Joking about getting laid is one thing (see: Adam) but this sounds more like one of those guys who calls in with a non-problem just to make sure people know he's gettin' some. Well good job, you and millions of others. And since he's involved with a girl who's been humiliated, degraded and objectified enough in her life (yeah, hash, I guess I'm just uptight, though I'd call it mature) it'd be nice to see more of a stand up guy rather than an exploitative one. But then I'm from the chivalric school of real men don't divulge details, as outdated as that sadly is. And of course you could always apply the Drew and Adam logic about the guys that massively abused girls tend to pick. So I don't trust him (I'm sure I'll get flamed being that he's part of the establishment here.) That said, I'm glad she's off the sauce and flying straight in that sense. And it’s great that she finally has a sponsor and is getting therapy – that can only be a good thing.* But then it's also very dangerous for two recovering addicts to get involved so quickly after one of them got sober. *The preceeding is wishful (and hopefully accurate) thinking —Beat It! |

I'm not really sure why it speaks ill of me because I chose to respond lightly to your post which seemed a bit hostile by nature. As for Jess, she's on day 110 of sobriety. And as far as her personality goes, you really don't know her -- all you've done is paint a very poor portrait of someone who's a caricature of a typical Loveline caller. The real life Jess is very bright and very kind. (As am I.) It seems odd that something as innocuous as me posting from Jess's account as we were walking out the goddamn door would've drawn such an angry response. But hey, it takes all kinds. —steve |
