I bought some bagels today, and they rang up as "Theo Bluebry Bagel." It freaked me out and I just thought you all should know.

haha

...but are you sure it wasn't "tho?" Are they Thomas's? I bought some of those today, too. Now I'm afraid to look at the receipt.

I can't figure out why it says that, there's no brand on the package besides "Shop n Save." The store used to sell "Theodoro" bakery doughnuts..

That's probably it, then.

But it really looks like they were made in the store. I mean, the store has its own bakery. And "Theodoro" is nowhere on the label. It's just a label that was printed at the store. The Theodoro doughnuts had their own box with a logo and everything.

I have never eaten a bagel. I am Jewish and I grew up on the East Coast. Go figure. They alway looked nasty to me.

Maybe the Theodoro ones are the same price, so they just use the same PLU key for both.

Being the voice of reason (for once) and working in retail for many years.... It is the responsibility of some corporate whore to input new items into the pricebook on a daily basis.... after a thousand or so entries, they tend not to care about the "17 digit or less" moniker on the reciept and just input what is on the invoice... and could give two shits what the receipt says.. With that said, it could also be the pricebook hasn't been update since they stopped serving those theo bagels and the sku is still linked to that description. blah, et al.

dude until about 2 months ago I had never eaten a bagel either. They DO look gross. My exboyfriend insisted I eat one. And WTF it cost about as much as a loaf of bread. It's ridiculous. The only bagels I'll ever eat are pizza bagles from Chesapeake Bagel Bakery. Goddamn that's some good pizza.

You either buy cheap bread or expensive bagels, because I just bought 6 for $1.79.

Maybe you need to get your bagels from a master baker then.

Bagels are NOT like boobs, and you can't eat them or like them like we like boobs. You just don't get it, but that's ok. We love you anyway. And your boobs.

Some people's boobs are the same shape as bagels. The hole in the bagel can sub for the nipple. Or not.

i know the bagels she speaks of.
i, too, get stuff from shop n save. their prices are much lower than their locally owned jewish competitors. the trade off is that you bag your own groceries and the environment is kinda ghetto.
i used to eat those blueberry bagels all the time...totally had a thing for them.
i think they're boiled instead of baked so they come out soft and bread-like. i think they're better raw/untoasted. they don't even need butter or cream cheese.
i had so many over the years, i just got sick of them. it's been maybe 2 years since i had one.
now i want one.

Quick question, how do you boil a muffin though? I've never heard of that...

The difference between a good bagel and a bad one is scary. Good one Toasted w/cream cheese is hard to beat. Fry a little egg and ham, make a bagel sandwich with some melted cheddar-ooooooeeee. Not that McDonald's crap either, I'd rather munch on a cat turd dipped in smegma.

BTW- A guy walks into a diner and orders a hamburger from the waitress. He sees the cook in the kitchen pick up a slab of meat, tuck it under his armpit and flatten the patty. He signals the waitress and says "I'm not paying for that hamburger, I saw what he did with the meat and that's disgusting." A little annoyed, the waitress replies "That's nothin' hun, you should see how he makes the bagels." HIIIIIIIOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Here all week, try the veal

Har har hardee har har.

Speaking of boiling muffins, how do they fry ice cream? Don't you think it would melt? It tastes really good, I just have no clue how it is made.

Deep fried, quickly, in a deep fryer. Sounds gross, but, hey, what are you going to do?
