If you go back and listen to that show, they don't shut the fuck up for more than like four seconds, and they are stepping all over Adam's shit. Tuesday, April 5, 2005 at 12:50 PM 1. i used to ride the train into NYC with one of their girlfriends, i don't know if it was the one mentioned on here. she was nice but not exactly the brightest thing on the planet. she went to FIT if that tells you anything (which it should). 2. when they played here in cincinnati, they had to leave town in a hurry because they got some 15 year old girl drunk and naked... someone at the venue called the cops and they had to split before the heat got em. 3. they wear makeup so in conclusion, i say yes, douchenozzles and fags. —GooseAss |

Saturday, April 9, 2005 at 12:15 PM Yea the funny thing is you guys would not know real music if it came and bit you in the ass. My Chemical Romance is an amazing band both live, and on cd. I think you guys are fucking tards with no lives. What are you in junior high? Do you have to come onto a website and start making fun of a band? Hell do I see any of you being asked to come onto the show? No, none of you were so why don't you just the fuck up and listen to real music. Look around nowadays, you see more guys wearing a make-up then girls do. That's their thing. They like to do it. They aren't here to please everyone, and that is obvious. But they don't deserve to be called "Douchenozzles",which is really dumb by the way, maybe if you took the time to either meet the guys, or really listen to their music then you would understand what they are about. As for the stoner laugh. How can you even say a laugh is a stoner laugh an that they still smoke weed and everything. Have you heard peoples laughs? I think a bunch of you need to grow up and learn that most of your opinions don't matter. They are making millions and being asked to do shows and what not. What have you been asked to do? Go to the copier? Make me a coffee? And about the Cincinnati show, I really doubt they would get some girl drunk an naked. They aren't like that at all. With their girlfriends. Leave their personal lives out of this, they never did anything to you so you have no reason to be making fun of them. Their songs are awesome and so are they so you all need to fuck off and get a life! —xdeadxlikexmex |

Sunday, April 10, 2005 at 4:43 AM Am I the only one who tastes the bitter irony here? This is a forum about Loveline, it exists to comment on anything related to the show, ie. guests, Adam/Drew, bands and their music. Music, like all art, is not subjective. If a person thinks a band sucks ass, that is their opinion. If you're pissed that EVERYONE doesn't share the same taste in music as yourself, then you ARE a Douchenozzle to get your panties in a bunch about it. As Adam would tell us, who are we to judge guys who wear makeup and get 15 yr. olds naked? That is their thing, just as child molesters are doing their thing. Don't tell me "you weren't there, blahblahblah, that's a rumor blahblahblah, you don't know them, blahblahblah." Unless YOU were there and intimately know each of the band members, that's pot to kettle. Frankly, I could give an F about the band, with the exception of the 15 yr. old girl incident. RUMOR- fine, let's move on. TRUE- they are more than douchenozzles. What I care about is people who get so enraged when others DON'T THINK LIKE THEY DO. Christ, this is futile. I can't resist replying to blowhards, though. Deadx and MCRrox- ACLU is accepting resumes. Thank you for reminding us that the validity of a person's opinion is in direct correllation to the balance of their bank account and profession. Maybe you can enlighten everyone on this forum as to what good music is, and direct us to the "gods" we should worship. And WE need to get a life? —Drew, Please |

Sunday, April 10, 2005 at 9:01 AM MCR is mediocre. at best. ive heard all the lyrics ive seen all the makeup. they arent original. they arent special. that being said, they aren't bad. some of the guitar riffs are pretty good, as in 'im not ok'. speaking of that song, couldnt they make some other lyrics up? i get it. youre not ok. go get some therapy and shut up about it. and the stor on how they formed up sounded kind of bogus. he goes from physical arts (i cant remember what) to 'punk/emo/screamo' music. because of 9/11? call me a terrorist, but 9/11 did make me want to strum on a guitar and put makeup on. that being said. WE CANNOT JUDGE. as deadx said, we dont know them, we cant judge them. its physically impossible to judge them on the fact they have a ridiculous amount of makeup, piercings, crying out for attention and are child molesters(allegedly, we cant say anything for sure based on deadx's rock solid defense b/c rock stars have NEVER cheated on their girlfriends before.) cannot judge. just cant. —Passionate_Man |

Sunday, April 10, 2005 at 9:14 AM I think the grammar and spelling police around here could have a field day with the MCR fan posts. The first guy, xdeadxlikexmex, uses commas occasionally, which indicates that he's aware of their existence, but he obviously doesn't realize their true importance in making an intelligent sentence. As for the second poster, MCRROX!!!!, wow... That barely qualifies as English. Next time you try to defend/attack people, try to at least sound like someone with more than a 5th grade education. I thought the guys from MCR were good guests, and I've listened to most of the songs on their new cd. However, their fanbase seems to barely have the intelligence of a loveline caller. But I've just remembered that not only do I have no right to judge, but it is impossible to judge. So I guess we're all the same. —no! cannot have! |

Monday, April 11, 2005 at 2:34 PM ok...so i've read what u guys have posted back. i admit i was wrong saying your opinions don't matter. but it's not that so much. like you guys can have your opinion you don't like the band. but that is all you have to say. you guys went into that they are gay looking and they fucking suck. you don't have to go into that, you could have just left it at they aren't that good of a band. also if you put something on the internet of course fans, and maybe even the band themself are going to find it. it's not like this is some top secert site. also you people took what i said way out of context. to even compare it to maybe i should tell you what god to worship. what the hell? As well as i never said that rock stars don't cheat on girlfriends and what not. i would appreciate if you didn't put words in my mouth. i said i doubt they would get some 15 year old drunk and naked. also that you should leave their girlfriends out of this. which is true. i never said anything about having "rock solid" evidence that they have never cheated. and to put that together is just fucking dumb, because you know i didn't say that. also this is a fucking forum not some university where every spelling mistake and grammer mistake must be taken into mind. i also never said they were better then the beatles. hell i didn't say there were better then anyone i said they were an amazing band. which they are. i said you wouldn't know real music if it bit you in the ass. which at some point feels like its the truth. no not all music is like mcr, but you still have to respect that fact that there are going to be people defending them. the fact if they actually broke up (which they aren't) if you hated them so much then why would it matter? like are you trying to say something intelligent to make people mad at you? because if you are it's not working. they aren't breaking up and everyone knows that. but truthfully you have no right to judge them. like i know i have no right to judge you, but in the end we are both still doing it. i think it should have been left at you don't like the band. that's it. and this wouldn't have started at all. you know i listened to that show and it was awesome, they came on to give people advice and they did that whether you liked it or not who cares. and i only used the profession thing as an example. what have you been asked to do lately that was so great, that people would want to write a forum like this about it? —xdeadxlikexmex |

They are fundamental to your life force, you get out of bed everyday just so you can listen to them on your Ipod. That's fancy. You asked for opinions and you got them. Don't be offended. And I missed the show they were on LL, but I saw them in a video on some oddball channel on my satellite the other night... and they look like bloody hell reborn, especially the singer. And if they had any talent at all, it belongs to their makeup artist. Tuesday, April 12, 2005 at 11:49 AM No, i think he is on to something. Their music is so genius that 40+ years later it sounds generic. They were so far out front and such talented song writers that they changed music, the way it's made and performed, forever. P Part of the reason it sounds so generic is because they spawned a ton of imitators that popularized their sound even more. MajandraFan, though he didn't know, was paying the Beatles a compliment. I'm not even that in to them. For classic rock, I'll take Zep anyday. —guydudebro |

What are you in junior high? —xdeadxlikexmex First of all, with a sn that starts and ends with 'x', we should be the ones that ask you if you are still in junior high. Secondly, MCR is far from being labeled as 'an amazing band' and they definitely do not make what you called 'real' music; they are just one of the numerous bands who jump on this bandwaggon (pop/postpunk), hoping to cash in money, which, unfortunately, they did, because of people like you who think they're making amazing music. But that I dont care or envy. I just think it's pathetic. —HocusPocus |

Tuesday, April 12, 2005 at 9:50 PM No-one here is embarrassed of liking the beatles and led zeppelin and the who? John Lennon had a nice voice, the rest of the beatles had nothing going for them. the who are awful, that tommy musical is a heresy. i put led zeppelin 4 on just the other day, by accident, and it was not only boring and dead, but also for the most part folk music, not rock. lots of acoustic guitar and gentle tempo. Rock music feels like being trapped in a hot car with a nauseous stomach. Now liking all that trash is delicious; thinking it is ubiquitously good is bad. What is insane about not wanting to hear Paul McCartney sing about brushing his hair, or Jim Morrison lamenting how good looking and depressed he thinks he is to an audience of AM radio listeners, or the prototype of being such dull musicians that only smashing the stage up can possibly garner any attention? I like that fat dude from PM Dawn, he is awesome. And Curve, they are fucking sweet. You don't see me saying y'all are insane or that i want to hurt youse because you're heathens, or relative heathens (R.H.). I also like Ben Folds, he makes generic piano music but it makes me sad anyway plus he has the sweetest fop of any bald man in the world. Will Oldham is also generic yet I like his stuff. If someone says that he is generic, I have to agree because he is a dude singing gently to an acoustic guitar. Pretty generic. But even when you are generic you can still go nuts and make good music, look at Refused. Their song 'new noise' has all the kind of things that I've heard people talk about in Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin music for years. The point is I can put my music collection against anyone here or in the wider world for passion and integrity and sweetness and beauty and even sort of diversity, but it doesn't matter. I just like to listen to what I want, and I actually would prefer if my music taste wasn't always going out of print. Life's tough in the underground, son. What if my Jane Jensen cd gets scratched? Or my Bodycount album with copkiller on it? (Rare thanks to the 'free-market' of the USA). I would feel more insane if I only liked one little narrow band of music. It would feel obsessive. I am a fairly tending-to-obsession person, it may be why I try to explode all that with going in every other direction at the same time with all the aesthetic areas of my life. And what happens when you try to go in every direction at once? That's right motherfuckers, stuck right where I started. But seriously, if any person here and again in the wider world can listen to Led Zeppelin 4 and then put on Infinity by Devin Townsend and not be impressed by Infinity, I would definitely question their brain power and quality of hearing. It is still chocolate versus strawberry, but its more like a chocolate bar versus some kind of strawberry mousse made by a french chef or an iron chef or something. You can like the cheap little peasant food more, but it's not because it is better food, or even that much equal food. That reminds me of that telemovie I saw in 1997 around the time that Nightstand was on, when that black dude broke in the house. He was raiding the fridge, found some Veal Cordon Bleu, ate some and spat it out and threw the rest away! I mean, I know it was cold but how ignorant can you get?
"The Beatles... made generic music." —MajandraFanYou, sir, are officially insane, and nothing you say in the future can be taken seriously. (Oh, my fucking GOD.) —Santa's Mouth

Tuesday, April 12, 2005 at 10:00 PM Edited Tuesday, April 12, 2005 at 10:21 PM I'll tell you why I don't like them in under a paragraph. Their music may great, I don't know. But do you really have to dress like nutballs? Uh, boy wearing all black and eyeliner makes you unique. Yea, I don't care. I pre-judge people, screw you, don't judge me. This goes for ever facet of life, don't do something just to garner attention. Maybe kids under the age of 15 won't notice, but the rest of the general public do. BUT, I will give them credit for this, they know that stupid kids are willing to spend money... boy did they capitalize on ripping people like xdeadxlikexmex off. Good work My Chemical Romance! You're music sucks but becuase you put make-up on and dress like a satanic Boy George, you've made a living. Update: I'm listening to one of their songs now, I'll honest... I kinda like it. Still, don't really understand their sense of personal appearance though. —OneManArmy |

"If you knew the song 'oh my fucking god' it would be cool." —MajandraFan Hey, insane person, I was the one who was defending Cradle of Filth a couple threads ago. You REALLY think I never heard "City"? I saw the Lad LIVE, opening for Testament, you tard!!! Oh, I forgot. YOU'RE INSANE. Brother, I was listening to Devin when he was fronting the Vai band, but even HE would agree that the Beatles are better than EVERYTHING EVER. That's just the way it is, so deal with it, and get over yourself. —Santa's Mouth |

Wednesday, April 13, 2005 at 12:42 PM Edited Wednesday, April 13, 2005 at 12:42 PM I thought the same thing, but I'm not sure using logic (or pointing out unintentional irony) is a good approach here as it will all most likely be lost on the intended reader. Not to mention the fact that if you really want a topic to die you don't bump the thread by responding and you definitely don't reignite the flame by telling people to let it go. You're just asking for a renewed interest in slamming your band (which had mostly waned in favor of slamming Majandra "I'm Such a Hipster For Only Liking Underground Artists Approved By The So-Called Anti-Establishment Which Only Demonstrates I'm Also A Hypocritical Mindless Drone' Fan.) No one ever said die hard MCR fans were the brightest though (and their writing skills do nothing to disprove that theory) although to be fair, it's what one would expect from a sixth-grader. —Beat It! |
