Sunday, April 3, 2005 at 9:48 AM Carter Beauford (the drummer) has out-of-this-world chops, and he's unbelievably fast. My only problem with him is that he tends to over-play. He does too much, and it distracts from the feel of the song. ..I digress. After all, this is the Loveline Companion. So... are the Mountain Dew Slurpees at 7-Eleven more or less of a "nectar of the tards" than straight Mountain Dew? —NYBret |

Tuesday, April 5, 2005 at 11:37 AM about the Trail of Dead... Mostly, I've heard they get pretty wild live. Tuesday, April 5, 2005 at 1:52 PM I saw them in St. Louis two years ago. I probably wouldn't remember them smashing anything..that seems pretty common. Didn't Green Day set their set on fire every show, or something? I'm more impressed with bandmembers who can walk on the crowd or show some real personality than just "wildly" wreck stuff. Trail of Dead's songs are also a lot slower than what I usually listen to; definitely no circle pit there. —chix0r |

Thursday, April 7, 2005 at 6:51 PM I dont think Trail of Dead is a band that solely thrives on wrecking stuff. It makes good music too. Saldly, there are a few flaws i find on their newest cd, World Apart... such as the unnecessary "hey, fuck you man" at the end of "Will You Smile Again" that ruins what would be the perfectly good song. Also, the title track that follows "...Smile" is just horrible. I do like Source Tags & Codes very much though. —HocusPocus |

Friday, April 29, 2005 at 10:12 AM Just saw Trail of Dead, and they rocked. Played 17 songs. Jason did indeed toss around the drum kit at the end, but that wasn't really important. I think they just played a lot more songs that I liked this time..and people actually moshed. Anyway, definitely worth seeing. And to make this Loveline-related..uh, I forgot to tape it and only caught the last 15 minutes of 4/27's show. —chix0r |

Saturday, April 8, 2006 at 1:30 PM This thread was started when I was in the midst of a bigtime losing streak and couldn't afford anything. Months later I was back on top. Picking winners, eating high end seafood, and enjoying the slip and slide with some quality tang. I took a major hit on the UCLA game this week and had to do some quick schemes to liquify my cash situation. Fortunately I was having a great month prior to that game so it didn't tear my world apart. Payout is on Tuesday and I have the cash. That is a good feeling. Most of you losers couldn't pay off a three figure loss, let alone a six figure one.
