junior college dropout |

Thursday, March 31, 2005 at 11:23 PM If your reading this, most likely you attend one. Is it just me, or does your balls shrivel up each time Adam takes a crap on our education. Anyway, this post is regarding Drew. Some old professor at my school (Mt. San Antonio Jr. College) said Drew used to come by to give weekly speeches about sex and addiction. Drew of all people!? Mr. Ivy League. This made me so proud I thought I should post it here. Anyone out there attend Jr. College? Or graduate from one (after 5 years)? I know I'm not the only living example of what Adam's talking about.. —junior college dropout |

Friday, April 1, 2005 at 2:44 PM Yeah, I go to a Junior college. I happen to be a Junior in High School, so I am able to get some dual credit in 13th grade Spanish over there at night. Yep, it's the best! —MalcolmCarmen |

Friday, April 1, 2005 at 4:09 PM I went to a community junior college for the Running Start program. And I successfully completed my AS degree in the allotted two years. So hah. —Dark Laith |

Friday, April 1, 2005 at 5:49 PM Remember, Running Start is a program where high school students basically get to take courses at a CC to get both high school and college credit at the same time (for example, History 111 and 112 fullfilled high school social studies classes, plus it got me 10 VLPA credits). So it's not like I did badly in high school and had to take a detour; I was busy getting ahead. LizWest is doing the same thing right now. But yeah, I didn't really feel like I fit in all that much. —Dark Laith |

Friday, April 1, 2005 at 8:13 PM Can you go to a JC even though you have a 4 year degree? Sounds like a great place to meet chicks. I could be some sort of father figure/messiah to troubled young ladies. —jjgold |

Friday, April 1, 2005 at 8:56 PM Edited Friday, April 1, 2005 at 8:56 PM People might be able to attend JC if they already have a four-year degree and if they decide to work on a new degree. —ankiedada |

Friday, April 1, 2005 at 9:45 PM Going to JC during high school is an entirely different deal. I'm surprised Adam has never noted this exception. JC is a dump because people who go there couldn't get into another college because they are poor students. The high schoolers who go there would never go there AFTER high school. —clodhopper |

Saturday, April 2, 2005 at 12:35 AM I took some great English classes at a JC. I learned to program at a JC. The few times I have made the big bucks in my career has all been because of the classes I took at a JC. I'm gonna go get my Master's though. A & D have a pretty rigid view of education. You don't need to do it all in your early 20's--maybe if you want to be a doctor. Tons of people go make good money and return to school. I know a bunch of people from the dot-com era who made money and then when the market crashed they went back to school. Plenty of paths to becoming literally a millionaire. There are a ton of morons at community colleges but just remember that the world is your oyster.... —bguirk |

Saturday, April 2, 2005 at 11:42 AM I'm surprised Adam has never noted this exception. —clodhopper Every now and then they get a high school caller who's in a JC, don't they? I remember Adam sounding distinctly, if only slightly, impressed about this kind of caller a couple of times. —Dark Laith |

Sunday, April 3, 2005 at 11:21 PM I have a four-year liberal arts degree and am currently going to a junior college for a more useful science degree. The classes I have with the other people who are attempting to be nurses are just fine; everyone's there to learn, it's pretty much like university. The elective classes I have with other JC people are eye-opening; they are all horrible. I think they're just there because they can't go to high school any longer. Lots of goths.
