For the first 4 years of our un-married life, I brought home the bacon while my then girlfirend brought home the bacos. Now that the tech-world/job market is in the crapper it's the other way around. If you want to turn it into a purely monetary transaction marry someone who makes more than you if you're man enough. Sow your wild oats, but marriage rules, and this is coming from someone who thought he'd never do it. When you're married to someone who makes some money you can attain much better "stuff" than you could when you're on your own. 1/2 of the marital assets is better than everything you could do on your own. That's the way taxes, loans, and society is set up.
