Login problems?

I recently switched to Firefox from IE and I have the most bizarre problem logging in. I enter my name and password but then I'm returned to the main forum page as if I never logged in. My password is correct (it tells me when I'm wrong) and I can't figure out what's up. Just now, I actually was able to log in. Anyone have any ideas on what's wrong?

clodhopper: Make sure you are allowing dolland.net to set a cookie.

maxPOWER: go to the main forum index, click "Settings" at the top, from there select "Profile", select all text from the text box and delete it, then click the "Save" button - that should remove the code that is re-directing people from your profile to Mirror Phoenix's.

Shh! If he can't figure that out himself, he deserves to have Mirror's profile.

Yeah, I can't login either under Firefox (I'm in IE now). I checked the cookies list, and "www.dolland.net" is there. What gives?

Just so people don't think Firefox screws it up for everyone, I've always used it to view the forum and never had any problems.

Okay, THIS time it worked. I'm still confused, but the good thing about being confused when something WORKS is that I forget about it pretty quickly. Good times! ;)

looking at your profile max in source gives me this as the culprit < meta http-equiv=refresh content=0;url=http://www.dolland.net/loveline/forum/people/mirrorphoenix/
how he put it there without your password, now that'd be a good question.

Firefox works great for me. Try clearing out your cache, cookies, and history (Tools > Options > Privacy). It's a nice fix-all solution.

Well, I just came to the site and logged in without a problem. I checked my cookies list and I didn't see one for dolland.net. Thanks for the tips though.

"What the...? Am I the only one using Internet Explorer 4.0?"-
yes. See Internet Explorer 4 has a newer version; two newer versions in fact, I believe, IE 5 and IE 6.

Newer versions of IE are like larger, more pungent smelling turds. Upgrading is just asking to clog your toilet.

Last time I used a Netscape browser I was editing one of my websites. It screwed up the HTML tags. I've never forgiven them since.

Laith, you DO realize that Firefox has as much to do with Netscape as Clueless has to do with Jane Austen's Emma? I mean, sure, maybe it's BASED on it, but...no, not really.

If you're advertising web browsers, how about Opera.

Opera wants money. Two browser versions....the free one blows, they want you to buy their CD to get the good one. Also it's a bitch to wipe out the program completely.

It's Mozilla. Same engine. Same origin. Same hate. Ahhh, nothing like lumping your enemies into one big group.

Firefox does one weird thing when I edit in a textbox on Xanga. When I backspace sometimes it won't remove the character. Like, if I had "really big penis" and I wanted to delete that tag, it'll leave the angle bracket and I might end up with this if I backspace "really big penb>" and it totally fucks up my tags.

Anyway, if that made any sense to anyone, I'd be surprised.

ummm.....yeah. Thats why i use IE.

IE dosent fuck with your tags. There are some things i like about mozilla, but there are more things i like about IE.

...........and just so you know, linux is better. i dont know how to use it very well, but it is more reliable and it is better for looking at porn (really. the colors are better in linux browser).

Very true, but just because you guys keep upping the nerd index... I am not sure that is something to be proud of. I was just a little slow on the uptake this time... don't worry, I will NOT let it happen again.
