Friday, March 11, 2005 at 12:04 PM I really don't agree with you guys when you say that the bit was better before Adam began intermittently speaking english. For the dedicated listeners it may be losing a bit of its luster as time goes on, but the bit was truly terrible when Drew was left to fend for himself. The Doc can sometimes pull off a joke or two, but is completely unable to sustain a cohesive sketch by himself. He would always just devolve into ordering coffee from Chris over and over and it wasn't funny at all. Then he would give his own, very unfunny advice, without properly pacing himself and the whole thing would fall to pieces. Once Adam started taking control there were actually some jokes to give the piece value, until then it was just Drew blowing in the wind. Uh, not to get off topic or anything. Use one of the later clips where Adam has gained a pretty good feel for the character. I assume the Bateman ep was one of these. —andrew |
