The same Asian minorities that do very well in the United States do very poorly in countries like Japan (non-Japanese asians in Japan, that is). I'm trying to remember exactly where I learned an explanation for this, but there is one. (It also explains why blacks and hispanics don't do nearly as well.) —clodhopper I believe the reason for this is discrimination. whites-on-blacks racism in the 60's can't beat asian-on-asian discrimination.
