They're talking about this now. I'll grab it real fast when they give out the web address so I can maybe host it if it goes down hard from the influx of users.

I'm listening to the 91x stream now, it's on a little more of a delay.

I think he said it was beefy, as in y, and not E. That doesn't work either though.

That was so awesome! And what's sorta freaky is, Drew answered a question I had, too! I definitely think the animated Drew resembles his flesh and blood counterpart more than the animated Adam resembles the real Adam. But still, it's a fantastic animation. ENCORE! MORE! MORE! :)

What a hoot! It's great this site gets the attention it deserves. Thanks to Anderson giving it a mention tonight - he's done so before but that was a long time ago - I think the during Mirium travesty.

Hey Drew if you ever happen to look, or maybe Chris would be kind enough - to please pass along this message. Finally since the Dr. Drew.com 1999 days, -"I've "finally got it". My life is ok & I am still a loyal Vancouver Island fan. Merci, pour tous vous avez m'aider a fair peu neuve. I never gave up - your compassion & humour has kept me "laughing & scratching". You know you impact even a forty something "old bag" like me :) I love your laughter, & also that you're no longer letting crap passed your way go unnoticed.

The only thing missing was the Chief asking Chris for some goddamn coffee.

Dammit, why does everyone bring this up. This was the FIRST instance of the Thunderbear routine -- yelling at Chris for coffe was a sub-routine that Adam added later.

It's now what I love best about the routine. The animation is GREAT, but I wish the coffee bit was in it.

On a side note, I wish the Chief had come in during either Andy Dick or DAG's recent visits.

"this is just more proof that they need to do a Howard Stern on E!-style radio/tv show...lets get some cameras in that studio goddamnit..." —fortyoz2freedom4

I couldn't agree more. Howard's show is a little more spectacular in terms of strippers and stuff, but hell, they've got a camera on IMUS, and that's about the equivalent of a webcam at a mortuary!

Are you going to the link, or trying to play the Flash file from your hard drive? If you have Macromedia's Flash player installed, it should open right up in Internet Explorer, so either follow the link, or right click the .swf file on your computer and "open with" Internet Explorer.

If you STILL can't make it happen, I could probably put an mpeg of it on the hub. ;)

Good luck!

I always thought that the at first occurance of the chief he was known as Chief Thundercloud.

This was the second or third time they did it. He was called something else before Thunderbear, and he's been a couple other names afterwards, but I always preferred Thunderbear.

And the 'more coffee' bit did happen in the episode I used, but I cut it out to keep the thing focused. Anderson was right, I actually trimmed quite a bit, but again, only to keep it tight.

I did it mostly because I wanted to see it myself, and I'm *very* glad everyone seems to like it. Thank you.

(Now I'll go back to my other name on the Forum, like Brian!)

No, "Thundercloud" was Drew's (later) mistaken references to the bit.

Great job! Ive watched it over and over. Such attention to detail, from beginning to end, truly amazing!

My favorite parts: 1) Adam is moving his hand, pointer finger up, points to drew and says gynecologist 2) Drew moves forward when he says WOW!

Where does one learn to do this stuff???

It's a Flash animation, so you'd have to buy Flash-creation software.

Dark Laith

Thunderbear

+

Yeah, it's Flash, with one of those Wacom tablets. And it's traditional animation for the most part, except drawn right into the computer through the tablet.

There're a couple books on Flash Character Animation (I used one by Mark Clarkson, who answers questions if you email him!), and there's a whole forum over at FlashKit.com that helped out when I was figuring out how to lipsync. I used to do it a whole different way, with a program called Magpie.

It's just a matter of learning the basics of traditional animation, learning how Flash operates, then combining the two. Simple, huh? :)

I think you did a really good job. I'm glad to see you're getting some recognition for your work too. Howard stern posts the good ones fans send in over on his site, the idea of animating great bits that would never get animated seems to be catching on.

You should get yourself a .com though, Dr Drew reading the URL was ridiculously confusing. You could probably get a job doing that stuff too, I think a lot of the cartoons on Spike and some on Comedy Central are Flash animated.

jj1319- Is the problem on my site, or RockandRollMcDonalds? And speaking of the McDonalds bit, I am humbled. Truly I have much to learn. ;)

Dr ipod- It was always my plan to link it to the Companion somehow, so the full address would never have to be typed. Everybody just beat me to it! Still, I'm looking into a .com for myself, for future stuff.

And Crumple1, there is another one on the way. I hope it's received *half* as well as this one! Give me a couple weeks. These things don't draw themselves!

Yeah, because "Cha-chi na-na-wah!" is Choctow for "F' you and the horse you rode in on!"

and Visigothe- In this very thread, you'll find a link (Kevin U's post near the top) that says "mirror". Right click it, and "save target". That's probably the easiest way.
