Monday, November 8, 2004 at 7:30 PM Last sunday 11/7, Loveline wasn't on, instead the metal show which ends at 10pm kept going untill midnight. There wasn't any mention of the show not going to be syndicated anymore. That sunday I emailed the station, the only email that would work was the email address for the metal show. Today I got back a response here it is: Dear WXTM, I am very disappointed in the lack of care you give your syndicated show Loveline. It's always a guarantee that on Sundays you will let the metal show run over, tonight 11min and still going. Also, how you now always miss the ending closure of Loveline. Why is this? Please explain to me in technical terms what is causing you to let the metal show run over and why you miss the ending to Loveline. Cue tones should help you automate the goings of the show, but for some reason it seems as if almost you don't even use a decoder system. A lot of my friends got turned onto the station only because of loveline. If your not even going to care about it just drop the show. I'm sure I can find another station to pick it up, another station to listen to. From, Brett Patram 923xtreme Church of Metal to me Hide options 9:19am (13 hours ago) From: 923xtreme Church of Metal To: Brett Pattram Date: Mon, 8 Nov 2004 09:19:57 -0500 Subject: RE: LovelineBrett, Loveline is gone. WXTM no longer carries it. Thanks for listening to The Metal Show! I thought they were screwing around but tonight they are playing music, new DJ too. I am very pissed. I am going to call WXTM tomarrow morning to talk with the program director if I can get a hold of him/ her. Also I am going to look to see what other stations may want to carry the show now. The website of the station: www.923extreme.com - still lists Loveline The phone number of the station: 216 - 861 -0100 The email that works: churchofmetal@923xtreme.com
Also this is an Infinity owned station there is one more station in my market owned by infinity. WNCX 98.5FM they play stern in the morning. I hope they will pick it up. Anybody who listens to WXTM I encourage to call and email them, complain and bitch till we get Loveline back. —24/7KROQ |

Tuesday, November 9, 2004 at 2:14 PM Just got my answer from the programming director: Love Line has been removed permanently due to lack of ratings. There just weren't enough people listening to be able to bear the cost of running the programming. Revenue is tied to ratings, and low ratings=low revenue. I'm personally a big fan of the show, and hate to see it go, but we were just unable to keep it. CRAP!

Tuesday, November 9, 2004 at 5:28 PM Hey Brenda, I just got almost the exact same answer from the program director at the Zone in Greensboro. It said the same thing, that the show was took off due to lack of ratings, "nothing else." The last line of the e-mail, said that "And it won't be back anytime soon." Living in the Triangle, I only listened to that station for LOVELINE. See ya, Zone. PS, your new morning show sucks ass! Meanwhile, I e-mailed the programs manager of 96Rock in Raleigh, and they said they weren't going to have anymore "non-local programs." Now, I'm going to try rock 103.5 down near the South Carolina border, but even If they took up the show, you most likely won't hear it in the triad. NC radio sucks. —Brice |

Tuesday, November 9, 2004 at 6:54 PM Does anyone know how Loveline is doing in other parts of the country? If the ratings are getting low, perhaps they might not bring the show back at contract time (February). I will start one kick-ass grassroots movement if that becomes the case! —Hobo84 |

Thursday, November 11, 2004 at 5:26 PM "Can you help us in NC? Brice thinks it looks hopeless--maybe you can help. We got a new FM talk station recently--" If by new talk you mean 101.1 WZTK - no luck. First, their owned by Curtis Media, the same group that e-mailed me saying they wouldn't program any more national shows. Also, that time slot is already filled up with other talk hosts, and furthermore, Fox News Radio helps program the station; there's just no way you'll catch Adam and Drew on a Fox News sponsored talk station. If you pick them up, try going after 106.5 in Charlotte; they're unreachable in the Triangle, but in the triad area, you might pick that station up, and they're most definitely a great target for Loveline's audience. Try them, that's all I can tell ya. You actually have a good chance with them. But yeah, otherwise, forget it. Sorry.
