Friday, November 5, 2004 at 11:53 AM Edited Friday, November 5, 2004 at 11:53 AM Howard Stern mentioned that he was going to play poker and then having dinner with Adam since he'll be in town. Carolla called him though and I was just wondering if Adam hangs on Stern's nuts everytime he goes to New York. I don't see Adam as a sploozer but everytime he goes to New York, he calls Stern to hang out. There's a lot shit to do in New York, but I don't know. —Faygo |

Friday, November 5, 2004 at 12:37 PM It could potentially be a business dinner. I wouldn't be shocked to hear Adam on one of Howard's Sirius stations in '06. It doesn't mean he'd have to leave Loveline or Jimmy's show either. Plus, Jimmy loves Howard, this is a way to make Jimmy jealous. Adam loves to have an edge over everyone and Howard loves to turn the screws between Adam and Jimmy. —greymatters |

Friday, November 5, 2004 at 9:49 PM Edited Friday, November 5, 2004 at 9:51 PM This is very interesting! Because Adam was talking about not wanting to do the Late Late Show for other business transactions. And Stern always mentions in the show that he will take a lot of radio people that he likes to Syrius with him. He never mentions on the specifiscs on who he's considering because he is not allowed to talk about his Syrius deal over his radio show but maybe Adam will have his own show! This maybe an unpopular thought but it would be refreshing for adam to have his own radio show with side kicks like stern has. Let him talk about his political views, cultural stuff, and games that he comes up with. I'm really tired of hearing teenagers calling up the show, I tune in for Adam's comedy, that's it! Drew will be fine alone. —Faygo |

Friday, November 5, 2004 at 9:56 PM Yes, but a lot of Adam's comedy stems from the callers. I kind of like that aspect of the show. It would be nice for him to have his own show, but Drew and the callers balance the show out and give Adam a lot of funny things to react to. —Hobo84 |

Friday, November 5, 2004 at 11:22 PM "I'm really tired of hearing teenagers calling up the show, I tune in for Adam's comedy, that's it!... Drew will be fine alone." I am not sure if a show without Drew, and without the Loveline premise on satellite radio would prompt me to subscribe and listen... Drew is a big part of Loveline for me (and for Adam - whether it is obvious to him or not, Drew is his in-studio audience, he balances out the show, and even acts occassionally as a muse for Adam's humor), and it would be a very sad day for the show if Adam left (truthfully, it would likely kill the show altogether) - if this is one of the deals that Adam has brewing, I sincerely hope, for entirely selfish reasons, that it falls through. —Kevin U. |

Saturday, November 6, 2004 at 12:18 AM Edited Saturday, November 6, 2004 at 12:19 AM I'm with you there, Faygo. I mean really, I listen to the show because of Adam! Let him have his own UNRATED show! Yeahhh!!! And what's this about Adam going to NY everytime Stern wants him? What's up with that? I'm not pertaining to his recent trip to NY but his past appearances on Stern's show. Can't he just call in? Does he really have to sacrifice his sleep and time just so he could be on the show and get less than half an hour of airtime? Really?!? He's like one of Stern's crew now. Like Stern can just call him up at the last second and Adam would hurriedly try to be there! Stern's puppet. —j4k3 |

Saturday, November 6, 2004 at 12:39 AM It's perfectly plausible that Adam could take on an hour or two of more radio work for Howard and Sirius and still keep up with Loveline and writing on Jimmy's show. The rumor is that Viacom, who owns Infinity Radio, might buy Sirius. For those who don't know, Infinity owns Howard's show, they also own Loveline. You see how everything is connected? This is not a coincidence. And I agree that Adam does some of his best work in front of Drew. Who doesn't love hearing Adam badgering Drew about some stupid shit? Drew also brings levity to the show, Adam can go off the deep end sometimes and Drew's knocking of the microphone brings it back to homebase. "No, don't take a phone call, do not take a call, no, don't do it." "Oh yeah, oh yeah, you can't tell me what to do, here you go, POW! Jessica, you're 9 years old and you can't have an orgasm." About Adam being Howard's puppet, I don't see that at all. Whenever Adam is in New York, he's always been there on other business. The last few times I can remember Adam and Drew got paid a bucket of cash to go to a Axe party, than there was the Hugh Hefner Roast, Jimmy's ABC show deal announced for the advertisers, all sorts of things. I don't believe Adam has ever gone to NYC because Howard asked him to, if it wasn't business, it was probably because Jimmy dragged him there. —greymatters |

Sunday, November 7, 2004 at 7:00 PM I dont see Adam leaving Loveline. When Adam is on Loveline the best of his personality comes to the surface. Listeners are also attracted to the personal aspect of his life. If Adam did leave though the show would die and take Drew with it. What I would like to see is Loveline live on HBO. HBO = No Rules —Bobothebigdog |

Sunday, November 7, 2004 at 9:00 PM Am I the only one who is not excited by the possibilities of "No rules" on premium broadcasters? Stern is already raunchy enough (I gather, he's not on in my market), and the LAST thing we need is him and Opie and Anthony uncensored. This whole thing kind of appeals to the lowest common denominator of society (i.e., people who find the use of swear words amusing and believe that, in respect to super raunchy stuff, the more graphic, the better). I don't think Loveline would be better uncensored, although I believe it wouldn't devolve as much as O&A probably have (have never listened to them either, though I've heard the stories) and Stern will. The only move to an uncensored venue that I can think of that was probably beneficial to the content of the show was Bill Maher's move to HBO. Would Loveline really be better if the could say 'Fuck?' I find it quirky that they have to say 'eff' and 'ess.' Am I alone here? —dotcomse |

Monday, November 8, 2004 at 3:02 PM When I was kid, I remember saying "SH" and a friend saying "IT" and how outrageously funny we thought it was that we said a dirty word without either of us actually having said it... but after the age of 6 the curse word novelty wears off. I would listen to Adam regardless of where he goes not for the uncensored aspect, but for his perfect analogies and his common sense approach to life. —enliteneer |

Tuesday, November 9, 2004 at 2:45 PM Edited Tuesday, November 9, 2004 at 2:48 PM Listen, it's not about that anymore. The FCC is fucking up everything and chopping everything up. That's why Stern is leaving radio. You can't say asshole anymore, even goddammit is censored in different markets. Stern was censored for saying the word "anal". I mean it gets to the point that we're on a kids show, we're not adults anymore. It's not just for the use of the word fuck, It's more complex than that and you can't understand it dotcomse, because your the lowest common denominator of society. All legendary comedians are funny because of what they talk about and their language. Chris Rock, Richard Pryor, Dave Chappelle. Are you saying that people that like these people are dumber than the people who watch Jay Leno and his crappy "kids safe" skits? This is getting out of hand with the FCC that even Adam Carolla complains about this when he was in that crappy show about two guys, a girl and a pizza place. He couldn't even mention Jesus in a positive way, for worrying it would affend Christians! This is why your comments are very stupid dotcomse. —Faygo |

Tuesday, November 9, 2004 at 4:08 PM I, for one, was not implying that there should be MORE rules (or even the increases that have already happened). I simply meant that I find it funnier when Adam says "pure S," than I would if he said "pure shit." This is not unlike when Beavis and Butt-Head could no longer say "fire." In one episode, about lying as I recall, Beavis said, "Liar, liar pants on...whoa!" and kind of gave "whew"-type glance to the "camera." This and Adam and Drew patronizingly saying "F" or "S" instead of "shit" or "fuck," just seems to make an anecdote funnier to me. I can't even say why. —Dusty TheHick |
