Friday, November 5, 2004 at 4:38 AM I am just getting around to downloading some past shows, and was wondering which shows people would recommend where Adam (or Drew) don't get along with the guests. I find these shows especially entertaining. One that comes to mind is the Stephen Baldwin show. —Hobo84 |

Friday, November 5, 2004 at 12:13 PM I enjoy those shows too. Bill Nye (3/25/2003) was pretty antagonistic toward Adam and it ended up a great show. The latest Dave Navarro episode (10/11/2004) was uncomfortable. I can just imagine the quizzical look on Navarro's face as Adam and Drew were trying to find the smoke detector while he was still earnestly trying to help the caller. Dave had to ask them to stop it. —sprewell |

Friday, November 5, 2004 at 12:26 PM Yeah, I remember hearing that one when it aired. Navarro's kind of a blowhard. He's a great musician, but he's really full of it. I liked the fact that both Adam and Drew were kind of giving him a hard time about getting those cleansing enemas. Toxins my ass!

Friday, November 5, 2004 at 12:45 PM I guess we'd have to eliminate Fletcher from Pennywise because that whole hostage incident is off the scale (Man, I still haven't found a copy of that recording!). My vote would have to go to Jeanne Garafolo who was pissed at Anderson's drops. Adam and Stephen sparred a bit on the Stern show and Adam has talked a little crap about Stephen, but I don't remember them getting into it when Stephen was actually on Loveline. I think there's that one drop of Stephen insulting Adam, but I don't remember it being so harsh in context. I could be wrong, I'll have to listen to that show again. —Full Meat |

Friday, November 5, 2004 at 12:52 PM "Man, I still haven't found a copy of that recording!" I can almost gurantee there isn't a digital copy of that show anywhere on the Internet; If a recording exists at all, it's most likely on a cassette in someone's closet somewhere... —Kevin U. |

Friday, November 5, 2004 at 12:56 PM Thanks for the recommendation--I'll try to find the Garafalo show. Regarding the Baldwin show, I could kind of tell that Adam was holding back a little, giving him a lot of sarcastic responses to his questions regarding religion. Also, I think there was a tension about the show because usually guests aren't so dogmatic. Baldwin was up on the mound giving a sermon, and Adam was trying to be somewhat respectful but still funny. —Hobo84 |

Friday, November 5, 2004 at 1:04 PM Edited Friday, November 5, 2004 at 1:05 PM In a way it serves him right, for inviting on a guest like that. It's not like they didn't know of his newfound religious affiliation. What were they thinking, bringing Stephen Baldwin on the show like that? —Dark Laith |

Friday, November 5, 2004 at 1:10 PM I am glad they did--I found it entertaining. It would be funny to have Jay Mohr and Stephen Baldwin on the same show. Remember Mohr going on his jag against fundamentalism? Jay, Stephen, Adam, and Drew would produce a very entertaining conversation about faith.

Friday, November 5, 2004 at 3:18 PM You might also wanna try the Queens of the Stoneage show from late 2002 -- the singer from the band was a really cool guy and a really great guest. However... He had Mark Lannegan (Screaming Trees) with him that night -- Mark was kind of miserable and angry. During one debate on the use of medicinal morphine Adam actually said to Mark, "Will you stop giving Drew the stink-eye?!?" It was awkward. There was another "psychic" episode from I think around 2000 or 2001 -- It was weird 'cause it was just Adam solo and this female psychic -- They were riding each other's nerves, but they almost seemed like they had a thing for each other -- it was a strange show -- definitely worth checking out. —steve |

Friday, November 5, 2004 at 9:50 PM Has Bill Mahr ever been on the radio show? I think he would be a great guest. He and Adam would have a lot to agree about-could lead to some entertaining rants by both of them. —Hobo84 |

Friday, November 5, 2004 at 10:52 PM One comment on that Navarro show: I felt sorry for Navarro. He made a great point when he referred to guests on the show being "rarely able to get a word in edge-wise" - I love Loveline and Adam and Drew, but they really do sometimes just seem to give guests the cold shoulder - Navarro seems like a nice guy who takes alot of shit from Adam and really tries to participate in the show, but he doesnt get much support from the hosts. —daveman |

Friday, November 5, 2004 at 11:40 PM That was Navarro's second appearance on the show, so he pretty much knew the routine. The show's emphasis is NOT on the guests. If it was, then there would be a guest scheduled every night. I like when the guests are funny or witty or argumentative (and Navarro was mostly just the latter), however, the best shows are when Adam and Drew are alone just ranting and taking calls. —Hobo84 |

Saturday, November 6, 2004 at 12:13 AM Who cares about the guests?!? If they were actually ENTERTAINING like the "Saw" guys then Adam and Drew would give them MORE than the attention that they deserve! Dave was a blowhard who tries to come off as this guy who knows everything 'cos he's experienced in life and all that jazz but fail to do so. All he does is actively listen so he could spin off a few questions/comments that are related about the topic! I mean, look at DAG. When he's on the show, it's all about HIM! —j4k3 |

Saturday, November 6, 2004 at 10:06 AM Are we gonna mention the Darkness's episode where they walked off? Not 'contentious', per se, but certainly awkward. And Adam reading their bio after they left was funny.
