Adam is a comedic genius, but his rants are getting too long

Adam is one of my top 5 favorite comedians, so don't take this to mean that i don't like him or something, b/c i do - it's just that lately i've noticed that his rants have been going on about 50 to 75 percent longer than they probably should. i think he's trying too hard, forcing himself on tangents even when he isn't really inspired, and then not bringing his rants to a close until he's beaten his subject into the ground...

the other day i was listening to a radio show on npr about the improv comedy group the groundlings (you can listen to it here: http://freshair.npr.org/day_fa.jhtml?display=day&todayDate=11/08/2004 ), which apparrently spawned a bunch of SNL comedians and famous comedians, and which i think that adam was briefly a member of... anyway at one point they talk about how most improvs that they do are two to four mins long, and that if they aren't getting anywhere after that time frame, the director shuts the lights off on them and ends the improv sketch. anyway i think that adam needs someone (drew) to move things on after 2-4 mins of his ranting, if he hasn't really gotten anything going by that point... i know that drew tries to do this sometimes, but he needs to get better at it - just slide in after a joke and go to a call.

on the other hand if corolla really gets somethin goin, as he often does, then let him rip.
