Thursday, November 4, 2004 at 5:02 PM you can't look at part of a group and automatically assume that the rest of the group is exactly the same. so, for example, some muslims are suicide bombers, and there must be something in muslim culture at the moment that brings that out in a small portion of the populace, but you can't by any stretch of the imagination assume that it means that every single muslim is a terrorist or supports terrorism. imagine that you were a moderate muslim who hated the suicide bombers - how would you feel when people assume that all muslims supported terrorism? probably the same way that I feel when people from other countries assume that all americans love G W Bush... personally I think that he is a massively inadequate president who has fucked up big time in almost every single major area of presidential policy, and that people only vote for him because they don't have the thinking skills to consider issues and therefore just go by which candidate they find to be the most likeable. —daveman |
