Is adam and drew real friends out of the studio? adam dishes out a whole lotta abuse to drew ... whew!
and, was there ever a show where he kissed drew's ass or praised him for anything?

he respects drew only when he's gone, and they do talk every night after the show. i find it hard to believe but i do think they're actually friends

Drew and Adam is friends. Not all friends be exactly alike. Sometimes they is different.

Adam's gone to dinner with Drew and his wife (bringing his own wife along, of course) and I think Drew and his kids had dinner with Adam once, or something. (And I think Drew recently brought his kids to the radio station during the show, too.)

I think they have become better friends since Adam has been married. It sounds like the 2 couples are friends, having dinner together, going to each other's parties.

I recall an episode from a few years back where Adam and Drew discussed attending an auto show with Drew's kids.

Ogm, you can't be serious. The last thing Adam would do is spend the energy to prop up a friendship for a show he can barely get dressed for. And as Drew said to a caller with this very question, they "get along swimmingly" outside of the show.

Not to mention, when there were 3 hosts Adam didn't really like that other guy. He kind of hated him. Well, I hated him, and i think the least Adam can do is back me up and hate him too. Adam's not real good at disguising his contempt; revealing his contempt is part of his humour, in fact. So fuck you, stupid fuck, daring to question the sanctity of the AdamDrew union.
I'm not joking actually.

Also, if their friendship was a schtick they just do for the show, that would, logically, indicate that they are not friends in real life. And there is no possible way that Adam and Drew could be doing that show for ten years and not be friends. There's a reason Adam as stuck around for that long.

Don't they do a post show discussion on their cell phones while they drive home each night? Sounds chummy to me.

How about you listen to the show and don't ask silly questions. OBVIOUSLY they're friends outside the show.

do you like to make lame pt-downs to feel youre smarter than everyone else, or are you just an asshole? we do listen to the show and we hear how adam goes off on drew (sometimes i just cringe) hence the "silly" question...

Sometimes it is hard to believe that Adam and Drew are really friends off the air from the way Adam abuses Drew on the air. Plus the way Drew really sucked up to Striker(who sucked) a few weeks ago when Adam was off fishing was kind of scary. Adam has definately corrupted Drew over the years, at least as long as I have been listening in the Boston area. Drew used to be way uptight about everything Adam would say about masturbation, lightning round, everything that makes the show what it really is. He even goads him into "dropping trow" now. You can really see how Adam really feels about Drew when Drew is off and there is a substitute doctor in the hizzie. He's just not the same person. I live for Adam's rants, and I've got to say it's not the same without both members of the team there.

Adam and Drew are, in fact, very good freinds. As posted earlier the two couples go out to dinner almost weekly, Drew's kids refer to Adam as 'Uncle Adam' and they do talk after every show on the way home - At least until Drew hits the dead spot near his house...

Drew kisses Stryker's ass to sort of 'pay back' Adam for all the crap Adam shovels at him. That and Drew knows just like the rest of us, that Stryker sucks.

If anyone remembers the time Adam and Drew were being interviewed on some 'Good Morning Flagstaff' show (it was a morning show either in Arizona or New Mexico) when Adam went into his 'Drew is the antibiotic and I am the Gainesburger' analogy - And the TV show host kept interupting Adam saying "Ahhhh - It's a family show Adam, it's a family show" - She did this like four times and Adam got pissed. Drew started saying (to the host) "Wait a second, listen to what Adam is saying here"... But the host just kept doing it and Drew finally got pissed too. I don't think Drew would get pissed if he didn't care one way or another about Adam...

To me, it's quite obvious that they're quite close. Their on-air chemistry, of course, is what makes the entire show work. I see this quite plainly when we're subjected to a few nights of Dr. Bruce; The lack of chemistry between Adam and Bruce is painful, and I often feel as though Adam beats up on Bruce with a mean streak. Adam always seems quite relieved when Drew returns.

Off the air, there are a number of references to their personal lives lead me to believe that they're friends. A few examples in recent memory:

- Drew bringing his son over to Adam's house to get Adam's help with his son's Pinewood Derby car ("Tell Mr. Carolla 'Thank You!'")

- Drew, his son, and Adam attending the LA car show together ("LA doesn't get any of the good cars").

- Drew attending Adam's birthday party at Adam's house ("Drew and his wife were leaving, and he just gave me the wave").

Also, I'm not sure where I read it, but Drew was being interviewed and had this question put to him. He likened his relationship with Adam as two cartoon characters who beat the crap out of each other on the air, but at the end of the day, they punch out on the timeclock and they're good friends.

The thing about them talking on their cell phones all the way home after the show... I can never tell whether they're joking around about that.
