Tuesday, September 14, 2004 at 6:39 AM Our country was NOT founded on Christianity, or on ANY religious belief. Our founding fathers made it very clear that church and state were to be separated, and that this country was not to have been founded on ANY religion. To paraphrase Larry Flynt, "this gives us freedom OF religion, as well as freedom FROM religion." And, as far as Christianity being retarded, yes it is. Catholicism is the worst. —thejoeinme |

Tuesday, September 14, 2004 at 1:49 PM The bible is awesome! It is all about love, discipline, respect and personal responsibility. ALL about it. (This is the tame soft version that is online, courtesy of the US squeamishness about all things real. I can't be bothered typing up the full version.) Genesis 19:30 30 Lot and his two daughters left Zoar and settled in the mountains, for he was afraid to stay in Zoar. He and his two daughters lived in a cave. 31 One day the older daughter said to the younger, "Our father is old, and there is no man around here to lie with us, as is the custom all over the earth. 32 Let's get our father to drink wine and then lie with him and preserve our family line through our father." 33 That night they got their father to drink wine, and the older daughter went in and lay with him. He was not aware of it when she lay down or when she got up. 34 The next day the older daughter said to the younger, "Last night I lay with my father. Let's get him to drink wine again tonight, and you go in and lie with him so we can preserve our family line through our father." 35 So they got their father to drink wine that night also, and the younger daughter went and lay with him. Again he was not aware of it when she lay down or when she got up. 36 So both of Lot's daughters became pregnant by their father. 37 The older daughter had a son, and she named him Moab ; he is the father of the Moabites of today. 38 The younger daughter also had a son, and she named him Ben-Ammi ; he is the father of the Ammonites of today. The bible is nonsense. Every word of it is either common sense (don't kill people? Gee, thanks god, I was about to go on a rampage) or the kind of garbage I just quoted. What is that passage, apart from a petty ethnic slur? Nothing! The bible is Nothing! And as for how the USA was founded, I thought it was founded on the killing of anyone who stood in the way of the violent European convicts brought to North America, be they a brother European or a native human. What kind of law and morality do you get from "get the fuck out of my way or I'll kill you"? Maybe the people of the world suffering under the yoke of the US military can best field that question. Good to see you're a cool guy Crumple! —MajandraFan |

Friday, September 17, 2004 at 10:34 PM I love when people who know the shallowest amount of knowledge about Christianity feel fit to judge it so harshly. Listen, I can't speak for anyone else but Christianity is just believing that God is your Lord and Savior. When you die, you will go to heaven. And when you need a friend, look to Prayer to provide you peace and solace. Don't look to the situation with the WTC and Iraq as a "Religion for Dummies" book. People who claim to be Christian can be aren't all soft spoken and stubborn and impractical. Not to dismiss anything in the Bible, but there are really only a few Scriptures that you can actively use in your everyday life. I believe in God and I believe in Heaven and Hell, but that doesn't make me some unenlightened, stubborn, extremist douchebag who can't relate to anyone other than people who share my religious beliefs. All I'm saying is to know what you're talking about before you talk about it. —Jason |
