Thursday, September 9, 2004 at 8:55 AM Another request: Does anyone know the date of the show that Adam debuted the "Get a hand in" bit? I know it was sometime this year, I want to say like February or March, but I'm not sure. I just remember it was one of the funniest things I'd ever heard, Adam repeating everything Drew and the caller said. The call was a guy with a question about something along the lines of oral or vaginal herpes, I remember that as well. Man, Adam was on the roll of a lifetime from like January through May of this year. Every night, he was able to sneak in a hilarious rant or one-liner ("It's gay faggotry", re: Lord of the Rings). An And if anyone has the call where he discussed inventing the Jizzelle, that would also be fantastic. I just need dates, I can download them myself. Thanks a lot guys —thejoeinme |

Thursday, September 9, 2004 at 2:26 PM I want to say March too, but I really don't know. But man was that funny, I think I do kind of remember the guy with oral herpes. "Got the herpes, let's break it down now! Haven't seen a doctor yet, get a hand in! *clap clap* Want to know if you can give it to your girlfriend, let's break it down now!" I think that call was when I started liking the "break it down now" bit, when I actually found it funny. I'm not sure, but I think he may have used it a few times before that particular call. —Jacotus |

Thursday, September 9, 2004 at 6:34 PM If you check the NJC sites, you'll find the "Jizelle" call on April 25, 2004 -- Although I spelled Jizelle differently, the show is labled "Loveline20040425-The Giselle" I'm not sure when the coach bit first aired, but I was listening to an old show a few days ago, thinking, "Hey, I think this was the very first time he did this bit." Unfortunately, I don't remember what show that was. —steve |

Thursday, September 9, 2004 at 9:26 PM Now that "Get a hand in.." has become such a part of the regular menu, and Adam doesn't always bother to explain the pop-warner origins --- ever notice how guests can get baffled by it all? I heard one actually ask "Why are you clapping?" —baja |

Friday, September 10, 2004 at 5:50 AM Is that really only from this year? I thought he was saying that for years. But I only got into the show January this year. —MajandraFan |

Friday, September 10, 2004 at 8:00 AM Also not sure of the date, but I believe it was a Monday night show between February 23 and March 15, because I remember hearing it on a Tuesday night. That was a memorable call. Adam was just so sick and tired of asking questions to irresponsive callers, and that particular caller just pushed him over the edge. It was a call about herpes, and Adam asked the question, "Oral or Vaginal?" several times, to absolutely no response from the caller. After becomingly intolerably frustrated, he started clapping his hands vigorously and beginning with the pop-warner-football-speak ("Oral or Vaginal, get a hand in!) The following couple of nights, he made use of the "Get a hand in" phrase early and often. Good times. —presidents04 |
