Thursday, August 19, 2004 at 7:53 PM I didn't see it either but i remember adam saying he got frustrated at the audience never laughing, so he ended up yelling at them, so they pretty much banned him from the show. —Walter Neff |

Friday, August 20, 2004 at 5:11 AM That's true, I think this was in another thread too. Adam's humor seems to work best in a more intimate setting, like the radio. Works best as if he were just one of your buddies and you were BSing. TV audiences just don't get him. Like on Jimmy Kimmel when there was that Homeland Security thing about having duct-tape and plastic to wrap around your house, and he said something about wrapping your vagina in plastic. Then Jimmy said something like, "that little talk we had back stage did nothing for you did it?" That seems like a pretty funny exchange, but the TV audience didn't like it very much. —Masteel |

Sunday, August 22, 2004 at 2:15 AM I saw Adam on Conan -- it was back around 2001 -- And yes, Adam was telling the truth -- the audience was horrible. His whole segment was received the way angry teenage girls receive his jokes on Loveline -- not just with silence, but with bitter silence. About 3/4 of the way through his segment, Adam began to openly turn on them, remarking about what a bad crowd they were. He also made a joke about 90% of the audience being comprised of "angry lesbians" -- This is the infamous line that Conan pussed-out on and allegedly used as the reason for banning him from the show. (Though Conan argues that it wasn't him, but his producers who objected to the angry lesbian line.) —steve |

Sunday, August 22, 2004 at 4:10 PM Where the hell did you get that Conan argues that it wasn't him but the producers? That's bullshit, he has never said anything about the issue because he doesn't give a shit. Adam really sucked that night and TV Shows ban people because they aren't funny and offend the audience. I'm a big fan of Adam but he sucked that night, he even talked about it on loveline. When he was banned from the show he got butt hurt and started talking about being too "contraversial" and "too funny" to be on those shows. Then started on a rant that they're afraid to book him because he has way funnier shows like the "Man Show" and such, which is ridiculous. I'm sorry but Conan O'brien is way funnier than the man show and Conan's producers ban people for sucking, that's their job. Conan's job is to host and be funny, that's it, he doesn't care what happens to the guests. By the way, I think Adam is funnier than Conan but this is just ridiculous. —Faygo |

Sunday, August 22, 2004 at 8:24 PM I was just thinking that Conan really is a pussy, when his side kick Andy Richter left the show back in 2000, Conan cried like a big pussy. He's a pussy but not cuz he's banning people from the show. —Faygo |

Sunday, August 22, 2004 at 11:46 PM Uh... I get that "Conan argues that it wasn't him, but his producers" because that's what he told Adam and that's what Adam has repeatedly said on the fucking show. Adam re-told the story for the millionth time the night the Simpsons writers were on. I'm pretty sure he also mentioned it when Andy Richter was on. By the way, none of us actually work at Late Night, which makes all of this pure speculation. However, I see no reason for Adam to lie about Conan blaming it on his producers -- I mean, what's the point? -- It's neither here nor there. Who gives a fuck? —steve |

Monday, August 23, 2004 at 1:50 PM Well, to be fair Adam wasn't really very funny and isn;t when he is rehearsed. It was the only time i ever seen Adam off his game. He kept trying to do this time maching joke and it kept bombing and then he said "women weren't that smart" and when the crowd booed himhe said "oh quiet down you lesbians" Conan is a fucking idiot. I would put Adam up against any Comic or TALK show host. AC is the most talented comedian of our time —mahoney |

Monday, August 23, 2004 at 2:50 PM Adam NEVER said that he personally talked with CONAN and he blammed it on his producers. I've heard this story a million times and Adam only speculates that it was him personally, which I think is really not his decision. I have a clip, where do i upload it? —Faygo |

Monday, August 23, 2004 at 3:21 PM But again, the real issue is Adam not being allowed on the show as opposed to the whole Conan/Producers thing. I don't really understand all the energy surrounding this particular part of the discussion. —steve |

Monday, August 23, 2004 at 5:26 PM Yeah i agree, Adam not being able to be in a particular show is being a big pussy. Anyone who bans anyone are pussies. Did loveline ban fletcher though? I'm not sure. —Faygo |

Monday, August 30, 2004 at 6:04 AM I don't think Loveline banned Fletcher, since he did actually come on the show once AFTER the poo-poo city episode. Although he wasn't with the most recent time Pennywise was on, but they didn't mention any ban. —puck71 |

Friday, July 11, 2008 at 11:13 PM Do they really need to "ban" him from the show? They can simply just don't invite him back on. A lot of the guests are on once anyway. —HocusPocus |
