I was listening to loveline last night or the night before and Dr. Drew was talking about the women (teacher) who had sex with her 12-13 year old student; and now the student is twenty-one and they are still "in love". She's still in prison... etc. I wanted to look up the news stories online but I can't remember her full name. Does anyone know it. email me if you do or post a reply danielle17w@hotmail.com

Then you might be more interested in my sister than me. She's a teacher in Boston.

"'Everything bad that could happen to a teenage boy, which is what he was at the time, happened to him,' Olsen said."

I wouldn't mind it if some of my more-attracrive female teachers did me.

Isn't that one of our funnier double standards? Why is that? BTW, I agree with Ogm. I wouldn't have felt traumatized either if some attractive female teacher had come on to me when I was 14. If I had a 14-year-old son and he was sleeping with his high-school biology teacher (female, good looking) I wouldn't be nearly so freaked out as I would if I had a 14-year-old daughter who was sleeping with any of her teachers, male or female. Does that make me a hypocrite? How do the rest of you feel about this?

Double standard? Yeah, because the consequences of sex are the same for men and women.
I wouldn't want any 14 yr old boy getting knocked up.

So if the 14-year-old girl used birth control, then there wouldn't be any double standard? That doesn't ring true. Something else is at work. Try again, MF.

there shouldn't be a double standard, because boys and girls are exactly the same. we're all the same. there should only be one standard. double standards are inherantly bad.

What makes me sick is that while MKL was in prison, Vili, the poor victim, was traveling around cashing in on the whole thing. He was in Europe signing book deals, was in NYC last week being wined and dined by the networks. His mother, trying to profit herself, had sued the school district for millions for not protecting his son from the predator, yada, yada...

Here's a similar story...with a hotter teacher.

Snuffy didn't ask whether double standards are good or bad, Everybody Has Warts. He wanted to know why we have this particular double standard.

Off the top of my head, I'd guess it has something to do with the remnants of a patriarchal social structure, with the fact that females are still viewed as physically and emotionally more vulnerable than males, and, yes, even with the fact that females can get pregnant. (Even with the easy availability of birth control today, we still "instinctively" view females as potential child-bearers, and thus are more inclined to act more protectively toward them than we would toward males.) I suspect that even women would be more anxious and outraged over their young daughters fucking their teachers.

But what if the young son was fucking a male teacher? I suspect that the father and mother would be just as outraged over that. So the sex of the teacher may be a factor in the equation.

Discuss.

Mary Kay LeTourneau, Debra LaFave...Rule of thumb: Look for hot blonde teachers with French surnames starting with "La/Le"! That's good to know. Damn I wish I was 14 again and sandwiched buck nekkid between teachers Mary Kay and Debra. Hmmm, I'm feeling some pressure in my pants. Okay, I've got to go do something right now. Back soon!

Yea, there are two things I have to say... first I'm quite impressed at the boy's ability to get anyone pregnant in grade 6. Boy, never in my dreams would I think of sex in grade 6. Secondly, I totally believe there is a double standard. If it's a guy there are some who say "good for him! blah blah blah" *plays the banjo drop*. If it was a girl, the teacher would have been strung up by his balls and shot. I don't like this double standard, but sometimes I think like that too.

Well spotted, Perma. Also look for good old white-trash given names like Mary Kay, Debra, Tammy, Cinda Lou, Sue Ann, etc.

Much thanks for this relief. White trash teacher sluts with French surnames...man, I could never get tired of that fantasy, it's the ultimate throbber. Somebody must have made a porn series about it. Mahoney can tell us! (Mahoney be ma honey, cuz she sweet like tupelo honey.)
