EXACTLY like how Adam does it. He's got the whole weird fast-talking DJ voice, the blah blah blah thing, "Two for Tuesday" thing, the "ROCKtober special," he's even telling the God damn temperature! What the...? I just turned my radio on and thought I was listening to a re-run of Loveline or something. Weird. —j4k3 |

Friday, July 23, 2004 at 6:21 PM anona, just Goooogle for 'Free Agent' or 'Xnews' and download one of those free newsreaders. I would avoid Outhouse Express for news as I don't believe they support yEnc compression which many of the postings are using. Now go to your ISP's homepage and find out what their newsfeed is. So, for instance, if you're on Earthlink you'd use news.west.earthlink.net. You just plug that into your newsreader's server box, along with your name/password which is usually, but not always, required by your ISP. If you don't know what your ISP's newsfeed is try news.XXXX.com where XXXX is the name of your isp. The first time you use a newsreader you'll want to load up ALL the newsgroups. Then after that you can find the particular groups that your're interested in. Then double-click that group and look for the articles that you're interested in. The Stern file I downloaded is a single 36MB file, so it's should be a pretty easy d/l. Look for the subject in my other post, highlight it and look for the d/l button. Easy huh? As for the show it was pretty good. Everyone was ripping into the new Baldwin, left and right. Then they got into his born-again masterbatory habits. I'm surprised he and his bible didn't storm out of there. Stern was also interested in Adam's dry forehead so we got to hear about the operation a little more. Adam and Stanhope were cool with each other, no problems there. Back to the newsgroups....if you get stuck or are confused on how to use

30% Sean Hannity
5% Rush Limbaugh
15% Latenight shows such as Conan/Letterman/Leno
10% Loveline, to the extent that he has taken advice-style calls on more than one occasion. The backbone of the show is stolen from howard stern. He's got the crazy sidekicks exactly like stern does, and there are just too many similarities to mention. He then throws in some political commentary to try and give the show a legitimate veneer, and he then he gets all of his comedic bits from latenight television. This is the Mancow's formula. I used to listen to Mancow for years. Then I realized I hated the morning radio dj style. Then I realized I hated listen to extremely far left/right wing political commentary. I had also been listening to loveline for years and started hating whenever Mancow would give advice. The final result is that I don't listen to him any more because he annoys the hell out of me. —Erlog |
