Thursday, July 15, 2004 at 2:24 AM I mean, it's kinda getting to the point now where he doesn't even care about doing calls. The most calls I've heard was something like 20. Give or take. They only get around to about 11 a night it seems. Because they have to stop and count the smoke alarm beeps (that's kinda old, though) and Adam usually finds some sorta interesting story with him and Kimmel or him and whoever the hell else he's friends with the cluck on and on about. Then, they usually go on and on about one or two calls and debate. And all that zaps up the time. The show is a mess, really. I enjoy it (always have) but the producer needs to really hold Adam back from the bitching and Drew from all the medical speak. —Jason |

Thursday, July 15, 2004 at 3:16 AM I agree with you alot. Adam is rants the whole time and takes little calls. When they do take calls they tend to speak with someone for a long time and than other calls they gie them 5 seconds. When there is a guest it is worse..he rambles on. He also rambles on about himself and only himself all the time. I find that disturbing. Dr. Drew gets to say a few words. I think he could care a less if he says anything. This is a part time job for him and making some bucks on the side. Adam acts like he is GOD and everyone should bow down to him. He is very " SELF CENTERED"....sometimes he can be nice but lately he is acting mean. Prob' because of his surgery that the whole world has to know all about. He has issues..( I find that the show is not to help people ) but to bash them and Adam uses this show as a personal ADAM platform for him to bitch rant and rave and talk about himself or Jimmy Kimmel...not sure if I spelled that right. Than when Dr. Drew is gone he bitches that he is not there. HE is def' got issues. Maybe it is all a act or for entertainment. I now just listened to this show and I am getting turned off. Sometimes we want to listen to the callers and not about SEX all the time!!! Adam can be mean. It is really sad he is like that. Glad I am not married to sad ass.

Thursday, July 15, 2004 at 5:01 AM I was thinking exactly on the same lines of this post, was even going to post it myself, but I couldn’t find the energy to care that much about it, but since it was posted… Yeah, he really needs to start remembering what it was like to “Swing a Hammer” again. He seems to have forgotten how good he really has it, and how lucky he’s been. He ought to get down and kiss Jimmy Kimmel’s ass everyday, because that’s the reason he’s where he’s at now. And his own drive to go and put his foot in the door, but really I think he’s lost touch. I thought this a few years ago too, and I just stopped listening. Sometimes you need a break from him, and then after a few months or years, you can turn on the show and enjoy it a little. I had to turn the show off tonight though, I was sickened by the way he was treating the callers, and not taking calls. He really doesn’t help people anymore, and if he thinks he’s such hot shit, he should try to get his own talk show. He better be careful and remember where he came from, or he’s going to end up being another D-E celebrity (no, he doesn’t rate “C” for me) who’s broke and begging for money when he’s 50. Funny thing is, I bet you (NOT THAT I WOULD) that a few calls to the FCC letting them know that a supposed “Help” show isn’t taking hardly any calls, and is basically an excuse for him to use his type of humor, would probably get his butt canned. I think he’s to self-absorbed to realize that though. The really sad thing is you used to be able to hear some real empathy from Adam, even more than Drew. Sometimes you still do, but it is few and far between. I think he’s in some sort of addiction spiral downward, and he’s more close to the bottom than he is the top.

Remove that and you've lost a listener...ME. I'd say 90% of Adam's rants have merit so I can relate to them. In previous years the producers have told Adam, at the board meetings, to stop ranting and to take more calls. I hope those idiot producers only knew that the rants, be it the hospital gowns, Culver City police, ass-draggers, or whatever, is what keeps the show interesting. I don't like what they do but for the most part I like the guests and listening to them. Adam he could go blow as far as I am concerned. He says he never won a emmy, well I wonder why. Friday, July 16, 2004 at 3:30 PM Masteel I agree with you 100%, you said it so perfectly. Yes Adam is not the worlds greatest entertainer and his abuse is terrible. Sometimes he is funny and he can be nice but when he gets abusive and he rants on himself and does not listen effectively to the callers, I turn it off. Poor Dr. Drew gets a few words in and he also can be mean too -- I think that is because he is getting sick of his job. All in all..the show has potential but if this keeps up he will spiral down to a carpenter again. NO one needs to be bashed when kids need encourgement and guidance to a better life.
