Wednesday, June 16, 2004 at 9:02 PM yeah I tyhink its bullshit that you cannot hear a show and call to correct adam and drew on something that they have wrong. I know that they tape their shows in advance but they can still admit they might have been wrong. how many people have been misleaded by what they assumed as right. p.s. why is it they always hang up on you when you call 1800love191 —jbroderick1979 |

Wednesday, June 16, 2004 at 9:05 PM Edited Wednesday, June 16, 2004 at 9:07 PM They don't tape the shows in advance. It's on live from 10:00-12:00 pacific time, though it may be aired on a day delay where you live. And what exactly do you think they're wrong about? As for why they hang up, you may not be calling at the right time. They open up the phone lines about a half hour before the show starts (so at about 9:30pm pacific time) and they close sometime around when the show ends (midnight pacific). Nobody's answering any other times of day. —puck71 |

Wednesday, June 16, 2004 at 11:17 PM Edited Wednesday, June 16, 2004 at 11:38 PM The premise you must informally accept is that the direction either wish to steer your call is infalible. Like the male caller Tuesday night who was an exotic dancer and could not find a chick interested in a long term relationship, Adam's opening remark was something like "You're gay right?" Immediately the guy responded with a slight sarcasm "Yeah right I'm gay" in sort of a "whatever" wise crack. They were ready to slap an attitude-problem label on him had he pushed it much further. Yet they were the ones with the attitude instigating the tension. Anyone would get upset had that happened in any other context in an exchange of dialogue. —Adam's Crows |

Thursday, June 17, 2004 at 6:54 AM The tone he responded did indicate kind of an attitude. I don't know if it was necessarily an "attitude problem,", but most straight people who they ask that question to kinda laugh it off and just say "No" —puck71 |

Thursday, June 17, 2004 at 8:05 AM It is a pretty surefire indicator of a guy's personality. If they cop that tone and attitude to two guys on the phone, imagine what they'll do with someone they're trying to date... —puck71 |

Thursday, June 17, 2004 at 10:36 AM It's always important to keep in mind the type of people calling in too, they're people with problems, and usually a history of abuse. This means the majority of them are going to have attitude problems and that sort of thing which are easily identifiable. The biggest criticism of the show is that they "make" everyone abused, and it's really just because the type of people who call in usually are abused. Relative to the general population it seems unrealistic, which is why there's this criticism, or accusations that the calls are fake, but fucked up people have fucked up voices. —piesore |

Thursday, June 17, 2004 at 2:50 PM Edited Thursday, June 17, 2004 at 2:51 PM Exactly. I'm fucked up, and my voice has sounded like a 40-year-old's since I was about 12 or so. Well, perhaps that's a bit of an exaggeration. But it got really deep, really fast, around that time. —Dark Laith |

Thursday, June 17, 2004 at 11:56 PM By their own accounts, Adam should not be successful or in a long term quality relationship. It isn't (just) the therapy either. As for being the life or death of the party and wondering why you don't get invited places so look in the mirror, Adam has the quintessential A-hole disposition yet he has been invited to parties and desirable company long before becoming a literal millionaire. It's just strange how he keeps things sorted out. He is able to distinguish callers and their circumstances from his own similarities and exceptions breaking the rules. —Adam's Crows |
