Monday, May 10, 2004 at 12:15 AM Listening to the show, it seems that everyone is messed up, at least a little bit, the show seems to tend to attract extremes, but can you be not messed up at all? There is obviously the issue of extent, and specifically, and what are the consequences of your issues are but can anyone be perfect(if you are perfect, isn't that a different type of creepy) Both adam and drew still seem to have some issues, and we are all raised by some sort of people in some type of social situation that is bound to affect us somehow, and its bound to include some kind of negative, even if its not that much, or seems petty compared to getting raped at 5 or something, I'm starting to think everyone has something. —lundy |

Monday, May 10, 2004 at 12:37 AM Yeah, probably. Our culture rewards the fucked up people, and puts down the not fucked up people -- and I mean just about all parts of our culture. From the christians to reward the aborition clinic bombers, to the people who give Sex In The City awards. But, I think it's starting to turn around, a little. —ZT |

Monday, May 10, 2004 at 3:10 AM Well shit man. Something like 1 in 3 girls have been sexually assaulted? I think i heard this on the show, is this true? Combine that with the fact that at least 1 of all of our relatives have been an alcoholic. alcohol and humans have been entwined for CENTURIES. Everyone has at least a great grandfather that drank booze. To go without any of these things is like winning the lottery. —Farty Face |

Monday, May 10, 2004 at 10:15 AM Well, if it is true that no one is perfect, than everyone has something fucked up about them. I think ultimately it's not what is fucked up about you that matters, is how you deal with your fucked-up-ness and try to make yourself a better person. —clodhopper |

Monday, May 10, 2004 at 2:44 PM By the choice of terms "messed up" and "fucked up" it is definitively abnormal. There are plenty of people going about their live's well-adjusted, keeping problems in check, working through them towards solutions, bettering themselves with experience and education, etc. They are busy building a life, familly, career, contributing to society. They are not the train wrecks on the side of the road whinning and screaming for attention....the squeeking wheels needing oil. Some people do talk about personal problems, peeves, quirks, weaknesses, etc. because it is fashionable but they are not crippled by them. Loveline callers are not representative of the world... only a segment of society.... and American (US) at that. And some people say more like 50%+ of women have been abused or assaulted. —Adam's Crows |
