Monday, March 22, 2004 at 6:30 AM So went to a show in los angeles @ a place called the troubadour ... great places, great music, near santa monica blvd, and beverly hills. So leave san diego at 5 and don't make it to the venue till 8:45 and it is only a 2 hour drive. i'm tired, pissed, worked, and don't want to get towed, so i don't take one of the many parking spots that is free near the pavillions market that is near the venue. i instead choose a parallel parking spot on the street of a quiet residential street, thinking that it would be better, and I was quite stoked i didn't have to pay the $5 for a lot or something. I park @ 8:45pm and walk to the show. When i return to the car after the show, i see a white piece of paper under the wiper... A parking ticket!! apparently in the area of town i parked on the street, you have to have a "R-5" residential permit to be there past 6pm. And the ticket was from 8:58pm, mere minutes after I got there. $39 and if i don't pay it in 21 days, it goes up to $80. That's it, i'm done with LA. the traffic, the tickets, the horrible parking ... i am never going to a show in LA. if the band won't play a san diego show, then fuck em' I just feel like adam when he was ranting about the parking enforcement people like he has done dozens of time. I'm sure they are the first ones in the line to get into hell. Jackasses. —Tyler |
