Tuesday, March 2, 2004 at 8:59 AM Modern day women like to hyphenate their surname with their newly-betrothed. I think they claim it is so they don't "lose their identity", but in reality I bet it's so they can see if the marriage will take, plus that way they can use up all their imprinted checks.

Tuesday, March 2, 2004 at 9:59 AM My guess is Ann Wilkins is her maiden name and when she got married she started using Ann Wilkins-Ingall (sp?) so people would know who she was. She's probably been married awhile (I think she had twins a few years ago) so people probably recognize her married name now, so she dropped Wilkins. —db |
