Monday, October 13, 2003 at 11:20 PM I think the selling point for ezboard has always been its price - free. It's nice to be able to create a profile, have a post count, and customize a picture and sig to go with your posts, but the ads are annoying, it wouldn't be on the dolland.net server, and it feels overused. (besides, with the global profile they have, all my friends at The Amputee Fetish Corner would know what a sicko I was listening to Loveline ;-)) —Jason |

A 'what was that song' tread stickied
A 'floating threads' format, so that when a topic is responded to, it 'floats' back to the top of the page, so most recently replyed to is at the top of the list. it amkes finding 'new' threads easier. other thoughts? i remember the Companion before this bassic board. such bad times that was. i'm happy to at least have this one. Tuesday, October 14, 2003 at 8:13 AM V Bullitin is good, i've used boards that use it. kinda pricy it seems, but i don't know the $ of the other options. Free is always good. But hopefully whatever we get isn't too pricey. also, another option is for SV to pay the cost of the board program, then stickey a "If you support my site please help keep it alive" or something at the top. People who enjoy the time and quality SV puts into the companion site can send $5 or whatever they can spare, and hopefully help pay for the message board cost. I would suggest against this, as it eventualy can turn into someone making a profit off of the show,a product that is not theirs. I'm sure SV would not do this, so i do not worry about that. I just hoep we can finda good, free board program to use. —. |

Tuesday, October 14, 2003 at 8:49 AM I've always admired Invision Board It's got your standard board features, plus a calendar (for guest schedules and links), a built in chat feature (that one actually costs money), e-mail protection to keep those spyders from spamming you, a GREAT admin control panel, bad word filters, troll blockers, very customizable PHP/HTML skins, the ability to setup Moderators to help the main Admin for post control, private messages, and search functions.
