Monday, October 6, 2003 at 8:54 PM This is just a warning to people posting in this forum. Do not take anything so personally when you receive adverse responses to your posts. Occasionally (often) something is perceived in your words that triggers a negative response. This may not be evident to you, it may be entirely misinterpreted by the people responding, but take a step back and look at it as a barometer for abuse. In the same manner that Drew has described how Adam will automatically click into abuser mode when a caller is a victim of abuse, the reponse to your post may also trigger the same reaction in this forum. It is likely that it has nothing at all to do with you. Just remember, it is a matter of perception. Things are not written or read perfectly by anyone here. Chances are we don't have the training and educatation that Drew has received. We do not have either of their experience although as listeners we may think we are more knowledgeable than we really are. —Tom |
