If you changed this name from God to George or Godfred you would have responded differently. Some of you are directly attacking God and ignoring the content of his post(s) others of you are indirectly blaming God for derogatory posts by other people and this one by him on the basis of having used a particular name. In other words, everything negative is God's fault for using the name God. That's just like making someone guilty for being a certain race, religion, overweight or gender. You may not like the idea of anyone using a particular name but that does not make them guilty of anything. You are projecting your personal bias and making accusations looking for anything to condemn. What is most interesting is that this is the behavior that describes guilt-based religious persecution: Shame them, make them feel unworthy, fearul of retribution, superstitious that all hell with break loose, fire and brimstone, punish them, beat them down, destroy their creative life force, demand they conform to your stoic limitations, squash their individuality like ants. Confronted by only the name, you snap into this mode. You probably think you love your god and are somehow protecting and carrying out some form of duty. You are only passing on the kick in the ass that was your true introduction to God. —Art |

In the content God has referred to the "tongue-in-cheek" playing up of the name. It is biased as the attack reveals that you are ignoring certain information and honing in on something else because of a predisposed position. In this case the position is that it is not okay to use the name God and use a few loose biblical quotes. I also said he would get the same reaction whether he posted under "God" or not. I couldn't care less what handle he chooses, it's the need for attention that irks me. Simply put, there isn't any difference between those posting as Adam or Drew and quoting lines from the show and someone posting with the name God quoting from the bible when it is merely colorful humor within the context of Loveline as these have been as far as I have seen. Attention: You are just looking for some way to put me down by characterizing me as looking for attention. I don't want anymore attention than anyone else here. This is a public forum. Anyone posting knows their words are going out where people will see them. As for extra attention, my point of view is interesting enough that I do not need any cheap trick to be noticed. GOD: This leads to the choice in names. You might assume this must be motivated by a need to draw attention to myself. Honestly it was a spontaneous decision that I went with. There is a lot of semi role-playing going on here. It was fun mixing Adam with God. A couple people don't like me using the name God and throwing in a few words from the bible. So they criticize me and call me names paying no attention to anything else. The thought on many more minds is, "WHOOO CARES !" So enjoy your lives, stay away from drugs, eat fruits and vegetables, exercise and listen to classical music. AMEN —God |
