Wednesday, September 10, 2003 at 6:38 PM Ok, kinda random, but are there any exceptionally disturbing calls (that is, non-bogus ones) that anyone readily remembers? I ask because it recently occurred to me that despite the fact many callers have horrific histories (sexual and/or physical abuse, drug addiction, having had to live in Bakersfield), their stories rarely faze Adam or Drew. (I find myself increasingly unfazed by them, too, but whatev.)
I remember several years ago (like, '98, maybe?) a young female caller talking about how her father was sexually abusing her (and maybe her sister?) and had threatened to kill her if she ever told anyone; I recall Drew seeming genuinely upset.
But it seems like sooooo many of the calls are, for lack of a better phrase, "standard" or "run-of-the-mill" horrific. (Or have I just become wholly desensitized to the suffering of most callers?? I mean, I *have*, but still, anyone wanna name their most-disturbing call, please?) —arp |

Thursday, September 11, 2003 at 12:06 AM A few different forms of shocking: Count me in for the corpse decapitation. I think some of the less overt stories are shocking like when a girl wanted to run out and screw a week after an abortion treating it like she only bruised her knee or something. No concern for health just thinking of it as an easy birth control option. All she called for was to make sure her vagina was in shape enough to have sex. (that call was just last week). The other night Adam was kind of a dick demanding that a caller dig into her past when she already explained her sister was sleeping in the room and she was concerned she would hear her as she called from the closet. There was another girl who had been molested by every generation of men in her family grandfather, father and brother. (the call was sometime during the last year). —Mike (not-the-first) |

Thursday, September 11, 2003 at 12:58 PM Few years ago, with Jimmy Kimmel as guest, the infamous "Goat-Fu*ker" Some hillbilly calls up complaining that he cant get regular sex, so he screws this goat, but feels bad after.....Anderson instantly starts the banjo music, and if i remeber correctly, they make fun of him to the tune of 45 minutes... he then calls back next week to get insulted by Ann on air.
