Monday, September 8, 2003 at 3:56 PM A caller asked once and the gist of Adam's answer that I can recall off the top of my head was: He had some friends that worked on the show. They asked if he wanted to write an episode/short/bit whatever and he said sure. He said he wrote it, people thought it was funny but it was put on the backburner and never produced as an actual show (fairly common in animation from what I understand). Animaniacs wrapped up not too soon after. Adam said he enjoyed it, and the caller wanted to know if he wished it had actully been made and he said since he got paid either way it didn't really matter to him. That's our Adam... —Logo Lou |

Monday, September 8, 2003 at 5:14 PM Hey, ya learn something new everyday. It'd be weird seeing the Animaniacs characters doing a skit that came from Adam Carolla's mind... —Jake |

Monday, September 8, 2003 at 5:55 PM Yeah Lou, I remember that call -- when Adam wrote his piece for Animaniacs it wasn't actually on the air yet -- the whole show was still in the conceptual phase. Adam talked about how hard it is to write for a cartoon that you've never seen and how funny it was to have the shows writers try to describe the characters to him. I think that episode was around July of 2000/2001 -- wasn't it the Brooke Burke episode? Whatever the date is, it's a show that Trig has at the FTP site. —steve |

Monday, September 8, 2003 at 7:15 PM For a kids show, Animaniacs was pretty funny. It had movie immitations all the time like Goodfellas. That's weird to immitate a movie like Goodfellas in a kids cartoon show. I remember an episode where some guy that played the piano kept yelling... he's a pianist! sounding like the word penis and one of the animaniacs washes his mouth with soap. That was the type of comedy that would come from Carolla for a kids' show. That was my favorite show when i was 7.

Monday, September 8, 2003 at 9:19 PM The coolest subversive thing I remember Animaniacs doing was (and again this is as best my memory is giving me at the moment) an episode I saw where they were detectives. Yakko (or Wakko?) was ordering the others around telling them to search the crime scene for prints. Dot: "Huh?" Yakko: "Prints! Prints!" Dot runs off and comes back carrying Prince (the musician.) Yakko: "No! No! FINGER-prints." Dot (looking at Prince with disgust): "Noooo thank you!" —Logo Lou |
