I was just searching for some loveline merchandise, I see that someone is selling Loveline Episodes. The ones that are on there now are Ozzy, Good Charlotte, and Jimmy Eat World. Theyre like 3-12 bucks. I thought you guys might want to know.

I have considered using a dummy account to shut these auctions down. A fellow member on this board discussed the options with me via AIM and I think the best solution right now would be to leave it alone and see if they go away.

A month ago someone tried to sell a month's worth of Loveline's on CD and I took them out. If these items come up again, I will probably take them out too.

Mr. Mason Jar- why would you do that? If someone is selling something and someone is bidding on it, then let them. Ebay has no problems wiht it, and it is just like buying taped tv shows, would yuo "shut down" those down as well? Calm down there buddy!

Naw, I see where Mason Jar's coming from and I agreed with him last time too. In that case, the person was taking shows that are freely available to the community and trying to make a buck off it. As long as the buyer is aware that the shows can be downloaded for free, I guess it's fair game.

If someone was exploiting my precious bandwidth that I pay WAY TOO MUCH for and my time invested to FREELY make these files available all to turn a buck for themselves, I would be APESHIT.

I'll shut it all right down and everyone will lose. I don't give a shit, I still have everything for myself, so F-Yall.
You don't want that and neither do I.
So if any of you mofos are reading this: DON'T DO IT!

John,

The episodes of Loveline that are available on eBay don't belong to you, me, or even Adam and Drew. They belong to KROQ, Westwood One, or whoever signs the checks so the show remains on the air. (Probably eventually Viacom)

When people share things like radio broadcasts, I don't have a problem because radio broadcast is free to all.

However, when people are making a profit that isn't rightfully theirs, then I have a problem.

You're right John, I could spend all day trying to shut down illegally sold CD’s, DVD’s, and other media’s that people choose to commit copyright infringement against.

However, I don’t really have any invested interest in most shows. I only care about Loveline.

And when people sell Loveline episodes online, they do two things:

1) Steal from the true owners of the show
2) Discourage people who spend hours a day editing and hosting Loveline broadcasts FOR FREE from doing so

If you want all free Loveline episodes online to start disappearing as an illegal market is suddenly created on eBay, then stick to your plan of just letting them sell.

Mr. Mason Jar, how do you "shut down" an auction item on Ebay?

first ask them to stop selling loveline stuff...

if they refuse, use a fake account and bid on every item the person has for sale, then leave them negative feedback and don't pay...

I used to sell a "best of" CD that I put together myself. No full shows- just clips that I created myself over the last 2 years. A few weeks ago someone called in and asked Adam if they were going to come out with a "best of" CD and he said that she should do it herself, sell it, and keep the profits. So I don't see any problem with it. I do have a problem with people selling full episodes downloaded off the free servers. But, if they saved the stuff themselves, then game on!

I wish Westwood One or KROQ would sell old loveline tapings for those of us who love loveline and can't listen to it everynight, nothing would calm my nerves out at sea more than listening to Adam's funny ass rant. Until then, who are they harming by selling old tapings, at least they're doing me a favor.
