Credit Adam for "hey everybody"

I have noticed Jay Leno and Howard Stern using Adam's light-hearted "...everybody..." as in "hey everybody" when Adam opens the show. Stern says "hey everybody" and "good morning everybody" and Leno says "good night everybody" both with Adam's characteristic jovial warmth. Since Adam has been guesting on Stern's show it has become clear that Stern likes Adam and recognizes his originality. It is quite an accomplishment and compliment for Stern to adopt Adam's trait as Stern typically takes credit for everything good and scorns everyone for stealing his material. Stern is correct with this rant. He has originated the bulk of material rehashed on every other radio station. As for Leno, he obviously listens to everyone and uses their material when the same guests appear on his show. I have seen countless times when Leno asked the same questions Stern used. Leno clearly expects the responses Stern generated. Leno probably hears Adam on the Stern show or at least hears Stern doing Adam's bit. The "hey everybody" is that effective.

BTW Leno is the worst interviewer. You need to be interested in the conversation to be good. Leno seems to be digging for a joke and most are typically lame. He always has to repeat the joke twice because he talks through his nose and half the audience didn't hear it the first time around.
