hey guys, is it just me (i'm a christian), but does it piss you off when adam talks about his ignorant views on religion. and how come aethestis call on god the most (***dammit)? i love adam believe me, but hes a dick when it comes to religions. but i do agree with him that those extremists religions get in the way of things. and im sick of this dicks who call the show and like hold back there cum and stuff cuz of there religion. someone needs to let adam know that some religions are normal.

Adam can definitely be harsh on religion when he gets going on a rant, but I know that he also sees some of the good things religion does/can do for people; he has even suggested on a few occasions that the caller "find Jesus." It is hard for me to get mad at him or argue with his ranting though, because I agree with him…

I'm right with you on this one Tony (except the part about letting him know some religions are normal.) I love Adam and I follow his philosophy on life almost 100%.

Although I do take offense to some of his attacks on moderate religions, I realize that Adam is an entertainer. Does he really mean the things he says about born-agains or jews, who knows. I don't listen to Adam for religious advice, I listen because he is a contemporary genius and my favorite comedian.

So my opinion on the subject is, yes, Adam does offend me sometimes with regard to my beliefs. On the other hand, he wouldn't be the comedian and philosopher he is if he didn't offend some people some of the time. Just because something offends me doesn't mean it's wrong or should it should be stopped.

I was raised Catholic and went to Catholic school up through high school and I argee that religion is pretty much BS and are the cause of a lot of the world's problems since their existence. Whether directly from the beliefs of the faith or people just carrying out violence in the name of it. Yes, it can "work" for some people and allow them to get by day-to-day. That's why its not going to change any time soon, but they really need to get with the times and realize that jerking off isn't a sin and you wont go to hell if you use birth control.

Listen to this and you'll get fired up: 2002-08-19

Religions are crazy! All of them! And people finding solace in these things is sad and pathetic. He's right about treating people who are religious as if they are somewhat insane. Why is it that we have no problem classifying the woman who finds jesus in her corn chip as crazy but when it comes to a guy that thinks that hes aspirit that is constantly being reincarnated into the body of another man time and time again we give them nobel prizes??? The dalai lama is as crazy as the corn chip lady!

It's fine that you have your opinions, but i personally think its ignorant not to believe in a higher power - look around for crying out loud. its these jackoffs with these crazy religions with no meaning that is screwing the rest of us over. all that buddha and shit is worthless. there is one true god. period.

I believe in a higher power, but I think all religions are a sham, and pretty much agree with Adam. The funny thing about the religious freaks is the odd logic they use, like "I believe that bullshit in the bible is true, but the dude over there that believes in that other stuff? They're CRAZY!"

They're both a little nutty. To me, there is no normality in religions. Be it going to church on Sunday and taking communion or praying to Satan, they are both at best, pretty silly, or worst, extremely dangerous.

"all that buddha and shit is worthless. there is one true god. period"

What an ignorant ass. Try removing your head from it occasionally.

My god who doesn't exist is better than your god who doesn't exist.

I figues this would be one of the longer strings (religion and politics).
There are exceptions in everything. Adam's rants are caricature. There is truth in every feature but it is distorted enough to be both true and exaggerated to be funny. When people take offense, it is usually because it is a topic that they want to take seriously and do not have a large enough sense of humor about.

On the contrary, the only ignorant one is the person who accepts something without any truth. I'm glad Adam does tear religion a new asshole...it's about time someone does.

Trust me, I could dissect Christianity and point all the bizarre, non-sensical stuff it promotes as truth.

And that "Buddha shit" actually has non-religious value, unlike most other religions that fall apart without the idea of God ruling over everyone.

What I am curious about are the view of Dr. Drew on religion...I wonder if at times he's an atheist or not...

There are many tards in the world. Some are religious, some are not. But regarding the ones who are, Adam blames their retardation on their religion. Not fair. A group of any type has all kinds of people in it. The idiots ruin it for everyone else.

My beliefs would probably be categorized under Christian, however I would never go around disrespecting Buddhists, or Jews, or Muslims, or anyone else... Except for those idiots who think the Morning After Pill is evil. :)

(And telling people they will burn in hell if they do not join your religion is the stupidest tactic of them all... *wink*)
