Normally I'd guess that it may be temporarily blocking you for trying to connect too many times (a "hack" attempt), but there's no one being blocked at the moment :( Wish I knew what was up :( —Trig |

I would really like to get my hands on the Howard Stern shows with Adam. Trig, if you can help me get onto your ftp, or get the files to me another way, I can post them on my website (www.attentionboy.com) for the people who have trouble connecting to the ftp.

Monday, July 14, 2003 at 3:29 PM None taken :-) The problem's probably that the server only allows one connection per person/IP. A browser usually uses one connection to list the files and another to download. So if you try to download a file, it'll give an error and eventually boot ya. The first option is to jury-rig a link like:
ftp://loveline@triggersite.com/2003/TheEpisodeYouWant.mp3 The second is to use an FTP client (instead of a browser) like BulletProof FTP or WSFTP —Trig |

Tuesday, July 15, 2003 at 6:32 AM People, the site works, this is free, don't expect perfection. Bandwidth=money and when you don't pay, whatchagonna do brother? I record the ep's myself. Get a little proggie called total recorder, and find a streaming radio station that streams the show (I use www.wjse.com) and record/encode the show yourself. Totalrecorder will encode the show on the fly into mp3 format. I even go one step further and chop it up into 4 minute chunks to easily skip past commercial breaks ...my portable mp3 player likes that better too... that way I can listen to the show in the car. But don't take my word for it. TRY IT and stop b*tching about it. —greg t |
