Tuesday, July 1, 2003 at 10:09 PM Loveline has probably helped everyone on this forum at one time or another. It’s time to give something back. THE GOAL: Ensure Loveline is being broadcast in every major city in the US. By creating a network of contacts, orchestrating writing and calling campaigns, and never stopping until our goal is reached, we can do it. It’s bullshit that a show this great is not being broadcast nationwide. If you’re interested in joining the crusade, email me with your full name, home city, and either: 1) what station Loveline is being broadcast on in your area, 2) what station formats Loveline should be on if it’s not already in your area.
This kind of thing really works… Up until a few months ago, my local Loveline affiliate was constantly joining the feed late; sometimes even 30 minutes were not aired. After about the 5th time, I started calling them 3 times a day for a week straight. After they blew me off, I threatened to personally call each local advertiser and let them know of the shitty broadcasting that was happening during their paid advertising time. They called back and appologized and its’ been fine ever since.
If we can get a nationwide campaign together targeting individual stations that either don’t carry Loveline or have recently dropped it, I think we may even be able to take some of the tarnish away from this site due to an incident that doesn’t need to be talked about again. -) Let’s get started! Occasionally I get bored with my music and I listen to the radio but the main reason I have a radio is not music, the main reason is loveline. So if the XM people want this customer they better get loveline. —Zak |
