Is it just me or have the shows been boring since DAG and Adam ranting about traffic violations and Mexicans shooting the moon?

It seems like those two shows really stood out. Tonight's guest (Transplants) and Nikki last night and the other shows seem like a blurr...just sort of filler...compared to the start of June. What do you guys think?

Nikki was kind of interesting for her dull, empty insights and thoughts. And the Jew-Off was fun enough, but tonight has been pretty blah. They can't all be Dag shows, though. That's why we appreciate no-guest nights so much.

well yes, the j-o was fun enough, but it wasn't hi-larious or even spectaculare. of course not all can be dag shows...you wrote that's why we appreciate no-guest nights so much...but tonight was a guest night, they were just not very interesting + the callers did not have much of interest, except for the guy who called at the beginning of the show with the oh-so-incredibly-OBVIOUS-bogus call!

the jew off was pretty funny! but nikki was wrong about goyim! goyim literally means "nation." that's it! over time it came be interpretted as "someone who's not jewish" to the point where you get nikki going "somebody who's really really really not jewish!" ya, good times. she also fit adam's profile of the ditzy blonde who converts to judaism ;) "The only people that convert to Judaism are the people the Jew’s don't need converting to Judaism! And who don’t need Judaism in their life."

also, hamentaschen is a three cornered cookie w/ a filling (the bakery puts in prune or poppy sead, eeeww! but I'm cool, so I use chocolate chips ;)) it's traditionally eaten on the holiday of purim b/c Haman (the villian of the purim story who sought the destruction of the Jews) wore a three cornered hat. ya. this concludes today's jew lesson!

First of all, congratulation on achieving the longest subject we have yet seen... As far as the shows being somewhat boring, I think that is the way it has always gone; ocassionally the show does actually consist of sex calls that we have all heard before and not much else (it atleast makes for good material to listen to as I fall asleep(In fact I'm not sure that I can fall asleep without listening to loveline)). Anyway... it is still possible to find minor highlights and good comedy in every show, but it is often quickly passed over. Shelley: when listening to the Jew-off I just knew that you would have something to tell us ;)
Good times everybody!

I thought the Nikki Sering show was pretty entertaining. She sounded mildly retarted or something, but in any case she was a wack. They did have a lot of mistakes, including the first question about Matzoh.

Hey Kev, don't know if you're sarcastic in your congrats or not, but i think it was tongue in cheek. well thanks anyway, at least a few you guys noticed and and thought to respond. Shelly, you seem to be not only informed on the jewish tradition, but somewhat of an expert. way to go! if adam had you on the show, you would definitely impress the hell out of him, and he would ask you many questions to fill in what he doesn't already know. Thanks for telling us the true meaning of "goyim." You are totally right, Shelly, that she fit adam's profile of the ditzy blonde who converts to judaism: "The only people that convert to Judaism are the people the Jew’s don't need converting to Judaism! And who don’t need Judaism in their life."

Shelly, have you seen the "Curb Your Enthusiam" show entitled "The Baptism"? It was high-larious, I think you'd really like it. I won't tell much about it except to say that it's about this jewish man who is supposed to get baptized so that he can marry a "goyim" and Larry shows up at the wrong (or right?) time during the baptism and screws everything up...That's all I'll say, but since you shared the Carolla quote above, I thought I should point you to that show. Weren't you the one who drove down here to Seattle a few weeks back for the best day of your vida?

Adam knows a lot about jewish culture, he's an expert on carpentry and boxing and cars...does it astound anyone else that his knowledge and memory can be so sharp in so many different areas? And many people who know a lot about a profession can come across as really boring or nerdy or dull...they just know cars or just know carpentry...Ace knows a whole bunch of different things, and just so happens to be an expert in these other areas (guess that's why he's the self proclaimed genius!)

Anywho, i am wondering if Adam really is an accomplished writer, as it said in the loveline bio referenced in trig's post. because he seems like the last guy in the world to read or write, or that's how he makes it sound. he seems like someone who sees and does and speaks, but not someone who writes. does anyone know about this. well, with that said, i might just hear from kevin contratulating me this time for achieving the longest post he has seen.

Keeping my ears pricked up for Miriam, who hasn't called in a few days ~ : )

It was just meant as a harmless joke ;) I meant nothing by it. That makes me wonder, is there even a character limit on the subject field? SV?

yes, I am that same shelley....
also another word about goyim is that it's in the plural (one goy - nation, two goyim - nations ;)) and I have seen that curb your enthusiasm! very funny!

I should hope I'm a jewish "expert"! being an observant jew and attending jewish day school for k-12 will do that to you ;) adam is right alot of the time about judaism and jewish traditions! he may as well be jewish! hell, I'd take him any day over lots of people! ;) it's not just his knowledge it's his actions.. picking up those foam packing nuts after they blew all over his block, if that's not the sign of a jewish soul than I don't know what is ;) hehe! good times.

oh! about the writing thing! in the ill fated "dr. drew and adam book" the back cover lists some of adam's credentials and accomplishments including that he is a writer for Animaniacs. go figure. he writes for crank yankers and jimmy's show. just b/c he can't read doesn't mean he can't write! and not reading certainly hasn't held him back from being the self proclaimed genius he is today! :)

I've been pretty out of the loop, but does anyone have the Jew-Off episode with the ultra-hot Nikki Ziering? Where should I go to get episodes? I'll drop them on my server as well.

Well, Shelly must be fat, because as Adam says, "God would not shower her with two gifts." With her diabolical wit, knowledge of the Jewish traditions, and the ease with which she recalls quotes from loveline shows, she must possess the intelligence of 10 women (or at least have an IQ above the master's 91). No just kidding, she's probably not fat & she's a charm. The great thing about radio (and anonymous Internet forums) is that we are our thoughts.

Hey Shelley, speaking of that "Curb Your Enthusiasm" episode, I think the best part of it was after Larry David had ruined the whole Baptism ceremony, he denies doing it intentionally - because it was a mistake on his part. But the goyim definitely think he was trying to ruin the day.

And even BETTER, the Jews also think Larry stopped the Baptism to prevent the conversion, and they took him aside and told him - in confidence - that what he did took courage, that he is a hero. "It's a wonderful thing you have done," they told him, "This really is a MITZVAH." It was a great moment in the show...in his inimitable style, Larry takes credit for ruining the Baptism as though it were an act of courage on his part.

Shelley - Since you are so finely tuned into Jewish Culture, you would undoubtedly appreciate the CYE episode entitled "The Special Section," though you've probably seen that one too. It's so funny in the very Jewish-guilt way that Larry's father didn't tell Larry that his mother had died. "She didn't want me to bother you, you've been so busy, with your work and all..." Classic.

Thanks for letting us know that hamentaschen is a three cornered cookie w/ a filling - traditionally eaten on the holiday of purim. You should call Adam & Drew and tell them the story, about how Haman, the villian of the purim story who sought the destruction of the Jews, wore a three cornered hat.

They would really like the Jewish history lesson, it would be so topical on the heels of the Jew-Off the other night. You'd have to tie it in with some kind of "love" call though - maybe they'd let you through if you just called to teach them about hamentaschen + goyim. Have you called the show before?

See ya.

I'm sure Shelley's hotter and definitely younger than I am; but we are both smarter than Nikki Ziering and we both know that hamentaschen is nothing like baklava. (The raspberry-filled ones at Zabar's are actually really good.) As soon as Nikki said she was Jewish, I knew she was a convert, because I have honestly never known a Jewish person who's dumb, and I've rarely met a person of any heritage who's as dumb as Nikki. She really did not impress me at all.

I thought she was pretty funny. She was about as stupid as she could get, but it was rather intruiging. I don't know what was up with that whole hamantashen being like baklava. Too bad they didn't have the actual answers there.
