Friday, June 6, 2003 at 10:31 PM IQ tests: IQ tests are only valuable in the early years, up until about the late teens maybe. The IQ test measures your "mental age" against your "physical age," quite literally. In fact, the resultant IQ number is the product of an algorithm: mental age/physical age * 100. So, a ten year old getting an 80 on the IQ suggests that he or she has the mental age of an 8 year old... not good. Adam, on the other hand, scores a 91, which is practically meaningless, since it suggests something like him being a forty year old with a 37 year old brain capacity. Unless scores are severely low, IQ results after the twenties are pretty worthless. To the FTP guy: Thanks yet again for hosting all these episodes. I don't know much about FTP stuff, though, and I can't seem to see any files at your address right now... something wrong? Nick —Nick Evil |
