Tuesday, March 11, 2003 at 11:29 PM I am familiar with IRC, I use it several times a week. Thinking of setting up and registering a Loveline channel? A piece of advice, don't use EFNet. —Mike |

Tuesday, March 11, 2003 at 11:49 PM I was thinking about it, but of course it is most likely no one would ever join it or talk in it (adamanddrew.com chat anyone?) and then there is the problem that lots of people don't know how to use IRC... just wanting to get a gauge on who in this community would be interested I guess. —Kevin U. |

Wednesday, March 12, 2003 at 10:44 PM I would definitely be interested, and there are instructions online on how to get started and set it up. Not too hard, but as you said, it would be hard to keep people on there for a long enough time to justify it's existance. Still, if enough people reply, this would be an excellent way to trade episodes. —Mike |

Tuesday, March 18, 2003 at 4:53 PM I rarely do it, but I'd change that around if someone set up a channel. AIM can get annoying after a while... —Jay |

Wednesday, April 23, 2003 at 3:42 AM I'm a mIRC junkie. I go on Webnet or Undernet usually. And when drdrew.com was still up, I used to get to those chats via mIRC, since it was faster. It would be nice if we could get a chat set up... —Audrey |

Wednesday, April 23, 2003 at 5:03 AM I registered #loveline on Webnet in case anyone wants to drop me a memo or just come hang out in there and wait for someone to show up. I'm usually on late nights PST. Undernet and IRCnet don't let you register channels or something. 'Course, I don't think they even let you register nicknames, so I'm not sure how that works. There's some info for Undernet here: http://www.cservice.undernet.org/ #loveline already exists on DALnet but I don't think it has anything to do with our show... And if we do file sharing, it would have to be hush-hush, 'cause of this: [05:54:44] *** Now talking in #help [05:54:44] *** Topic is 'Basic DALnet/IRC Help NickReg:/nickserv register passhere emailhere ChanReg:/chanserv register #channel passhere desc. ALL channels where the primary purpose is facilitating file transfers will be closed 'Course, I don't know how well they'd monitor that. I was going to try to make another channel but I can't yet 'cause I have to wait for email confirmation for my nick. :P —Audrey |
